Need advice folks, for a noob's predicament here. I wanted to do detailing work on my ride as often as you oc guys do, but I live in a location where residents either regularly hire professional detailers, or treat their rides lesser than they should. I guess the discouragement by the management re the washing of cars on the parking lot might've been the culprit for this (rare?) phenomenon. So the only fix that I can see for me now would be that of Ziebart's Diamond Gloss which would last me at least nine months combined with a regular CCD application, probably some buckets of plain water, a blade, and a waffle cloth all done outside the vicinity. I haven't figured things out yet and that is where you experts (gents and ladies) come in. Is there any alternative out there beside this step which is convenient for those lazy bums... and wannabe-detailers-inadilemma like me? Your suggestions and corrections alike are appreciated. Thanks and mo' powah to tsikot!

Sir Helios, forget Ziebart... mahal dun. Go to Big Bert's, masaya ako dun.

There's 1 in Araneta Ave. where Redline used to be. They also have 1 in Ortigas sa compound ng parang malaking Home Depot (forgot the real name) sa Julia Vargas.

Try mo search, may thread sila dito.

IMO lang Ziebart overcharge, sobrang mahal yung detailing service nila, I can't speak about their service since I haven't (and will not) tried their detailing service.

9 months? I don't think so, sealants will last a good 2 to 3 months given the proper "curing" time. At the risk of sounding biased, ever since sa bigberts na ako pumupunta when I need detailing services (altho I do my own detailing at times pero nakakapagod), service is good and resonably priced.

Thanks flagg, ILD, and happy for replying. Sorry, I just got back to my PC just now. ILD, I'm biased with BB as well if I only have a choice. The problem is I couldn't do the personal detailing in between BB sessions because of certain restrictions in my residence. Happy_gilmore, how often do you visit BB in a year? Will 4 times' visit to BB be economically equivalent to a single visit to Ziebart? Flagg, Ryan from Ziebart's told me na sulit naman yung price for the one year guaranteed gloss. He even told me that if I could not wash off with plain water certain stains, I'll just bring it in and they'll do it themselves for free. What do you think guys? Isang malaking bagsak for 9 months of gloss, versus a tricklefeed na gastos with BB's Theveed, Vince, etc? Once again, thanks in advance.

Helios, I'll just describe our OptiGuard po.

Hindi po sya trickled spending since your program price is paid upfront and it covers all four of your visit sessions within the 12 month period.

Sir Theveed, thanks for the info. Do I still have to do personal maintenance (dusting, buckets of water, and drying only. No more waxing, sealing, etc.) in between the four maintenance visits to BB as part of the Optiguard package? I'm just looking for a work-around for my predicament indicated in the first post.

    helios,

here's my post about ziebarts diamond gloss and bigberts.
    http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...2&page=2&pp=20

sa Ziebart diamond gloss, ang 1st application nila is around 6K, tapos 3K every year na.. yung gloss eh will not last for 6 months.. subok ko na ito dahil ako lang linis ng revo ko... tapos kung gusto mo pa-buff ulit diamond gloss eh bayad ka 1.5K for midyear maintenance, option mo lang po ito..

don't take Ziebart's Diamond Gloss.. pwede mo try iba kung ayaw mo sa BB.. this is just my opinion based from experience hehe

Thanks Sir Revo for the warning... and the BB's promotion. Ryan from Carsavers been calling me to promote their guaranteed product. Noobs like me are easy preys for them if uninformed about the hitches you've mentioned based from your experience. So far BB stands out as the best co. in detailing for me. Although sir, Optiguard may still require high maintenance in between your visits to BB, di po ba? Because of the restriction in where I live I could only settle for a low maintenance job for my car and still maintain the gloss that your cars enjoy. This is my Catch 22 unless I change residence. Darn the management and its bureaucracy!

Helios: Yup you'd still have to wash your car as part of the maintenance. For me, ziebarts claim of not using a car shampoo is plain BS, pardon me for being blunt. First you need a car shampoo for lubricity to minimize swirls, 2nd reason, car shampoo lifts dirt of the surface of the paint. Invest in a CCD, QD - better get it by the gallon para makatipid ka, and Microfiber towels. During summer you can go as long as 2-3 weeks without washing your car, just do a CCD - QD session everyday (this is my daily routine, takes me only around 15mins.)

Nakakainis talaga!

Tanong kolang. Ano ba ang the best sa detailing to preserve the car inside/out ilalim hanggang taas. Price is not the factor. BB ba or Ziebart? Or merong pang iba?

This thread is very old na pala. Anyways, just want to post that I just had my CRV-01 underchasis treated w/ rust eliminator + undercoat for PhP 4.5k from Ziebart Imus, Aguinaldo Hi-way.

From the looks of their work, mahusay sila and they have a very accommodating staff + manager.

My car is due for the annual renewal of ziebart paint protection, pang 4th session na nya sana. But i opted to bring my car to big berts for optiguard this time.

Last year kasi, napansin ko, parang di masyadong nalinis ng ziebart yung car, in-apply-an na nila agad ng sealant kaya yung dumi, asphalt, etc, nakulong sa loob. I don't want another sloppy job. Kaya I decided to abandon diamond gloss. I brought my car to bigbert's this morning, mamyang gabi pa siya makukuha. hope ok ang results.

I plan to have my car applied with rust ellimator and undercoat at ziebart pasig.

I just need to ask, how can you say this? What exactly did they do right aside from giving you an accommodating staff and manager?

Sir, just like what I've posted, "From the looks of their work",, and this is just my personal observation. Though I might need to review other shop's output in order to give "other side" review.

I just availed their underside/undercoating services, and I back-tracked to the real debacle of this thread and found out its more on the "Diamond Gloss" service, of which I didnt availed...

Also, Im new to car domain so I guess, this is just a pure personal observation..

Nakuha ko na car ko from bigberts, happy ako sa optiguard nila , so my answer to the question is ...not to ziebart.

I used to patronize ziebart, since 1995 pa nga eh, naka-ilang palit na ng car, pero every year nasa ziebart ako for their paint protection. This time, i tried optiguard at mako-compare ko na talaga. Sa BB, sobrang linis ng car, it was meticulously detailed bago saraduhan ng sealant. I bought my car 8am, 6pm ko na nakuha. It looks like hindi nila minamadali na basta magawa lang ang trabaho na kahit papano eh ok na. They really see too it na malinis ang car, makinis na makinis bago saraduhan ng sealant. Parang it wasn't like that with ziebart.

    Hi,

I'm a bit new here but I think "NOT to Ziebart".

I've been reading some negative feedbacks about Car Savers/Ziebart specially the one in Pasong Tamo but I still I gave it a try.

About 2 weeks ago I called them about my problem with my rack end. May leak kasi so nauubos yung ATF.

The receptionist let me talk to a guy na sabi nya supervisor daw dun. I talked to the guy he seemed ok. Sabi nya they will check the car first and see if they can overhaul it. if not and there are parts to be changed they will give you estimate and if you agree they will order the parts but you have to make down payment for the parts. Seemed fair deal to me. My car is a nissan exalta 2000 model and there is a nissan center just a few meters from ziebart so akala ko parts will not be a problem just in case there will be need for parts.

This morning I went to Ziebart Pasong Tamo and brought the car. The receptionist let me talked to a guy named Edwin. It seemed he's not the guy I talked with on the phone so sinabi ko sa kanya na may problem sa rack end ko and nag le leak yung ATF. I was asking for estimate kung gano katagal gagawin if i overhaul lang or if may papalitan na parts and if may idea ba sya around how much aabutin.

I can't believe when he told me na "hindi ko po alam kasi hindi pa kami nakakapag overhaul ng ganun at hindi pa rin kami nakakagawa ng ganun" la din daw sya idea sa price ng parts kasi hindi pa sila nakakapagpalit nun. It's just so difficult to believe kasi they've been bragging about this which I took from their ads.

CarSavers offers the most complete line of automotive mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, underchassis, accident damage repair, and oven-baked painting services. From tune-ups to general overhauling, body repair and painting to computer box repairs -- you name it, we can do it! Our three decades of experience assures you of reliable, competitively priced, honest and expert service. All our jobs come with written guarantees.

So sabi ko 2 weeks ago tumawag ako sabi sa akin you're offering that service. So ask ko sya kung pwede ba tingnan namin yun car. So we went out dun sa parking sa harap in the middle of the day (past 11am). So open nya yung lagayan ng ATF then sabi nya "meron pa naman ah". So sagot ko "kasi chinicheck ko sya everyday and nilalagyan ko kung kulang". So sabi ko try mo silipin yung ilalim. What I meant was makikita nya sa ground kung may tumatagas talaga kasi the car was parked there for about 10 minutes na din naman.

after a few minutes he got my key i try daw nila i lift so I waited for about 20 minutes. Then after that sinoli na nya sa akin yun key. ask ko sya kung ano na. sabi nya tawagan na lang daw nila ako for estimate. he did not mention anything kung ano problem or kung ano i chi check nila.

I'm not expecting any call though and even if they call parang nakakatakot na pagawa kasi mukhang ayaw naman talaga nila gawin. I don't know if it's because my car is already 10 years old na. nabasa ko kasi sa ibang forums that Ziebart Makati will just entertain you kapag bago at maganda car mo.

just sharing. sensya na it's a bit long.. just got carried away

Ziebart/Carsavers is really not what it used to be. We used to have all our cars fixed there before since malapit sa amin. They even used to have their own parts section. (Di ko lang alam kung meron pa rin) and their office (in pasig at least) looked very neat with waiting areas. When I went back recently, its still the same office pero parang ang shabby na ng dating. You'd struggle to find what kind of system they have.

Nagpacheck kasi ako ng ilalim ng car for rust. I asked them to have the car lifted to check. The good thing about them is I can go with them to look at whatever findings they see. Upon checking, they found a very small part that needs to be changed kasi nakain na ng kalawang. The others are pretty minor which can be solved by "lason" and rustproofing.

Weird thing was, I returned the car to the parking area in front of their main office to check with the supervisors what the actual recommendation would be. Naturally, they had to call the guy who assisted me. Weird lang, although nasabi naman na sa akin yung gagawin, I would hope they would also talk among themselves on everything that needed to be done.

Honestly, I didn't mind. Just found it weird for them. I think they quoted me 6k for the "lason" and rustproofing (and undercoating?) then another 1.2k for the small metal part that needs to be welded on. Masyado bang mahal?

To Ziebart or not to Ziebart?
