so to summarize...

best machine polisher for newbies: random orbital/dual action polisher

pads:
wool- for heavy swirls and moderate scratches
light cutting foam- for moderate swirls and light scratches
light polishing foam- for very light swirls and improving gloss

SOP: start with least aggressive first (to save more clear coat)... also least aggressive as finisher (before wax).

sis madkatz, also checked mothers site and found these polishes for machine use:

mothers Machine Glaze - according to them it removes fine scratches and swirl marks.
mothers Foam Pad Polish - they say it removes swirl marks, and enhances color and add depth.

is mothers Foam Pad Polish ang pinaka least aggressive for machine polish sa line up nang mothers? ...if yes, after removing the swirl marks and light clear coat scratches, ok lang sya na regular polish ko (Foam Pad Polish with polishing foam pad)? ...to enhance/maintain gloss/color/depth?

*manny31671: well if you are getting a Porter Cable then i would recommend you just go with Power Polish, its a very versatile product and it has also given me great results, also check out jon's detail on his black car, its just beautiful.

I decided to just stick with Power Polish for the Porter Cable

But if you are planning on getting a rotary polisher, i would say that these products are great, their machine glaze is actually a polish that removes swirls and sand scratches quite effectively and yes the foam pad polish is the least aggressive, its like somewhere between a polish and a finishing polish, i didn't classify this into a light polish because it can give you a great finish.

pang finishing pala un mga mothers professional products, and are recommended to be used with a rotary polisher...

so for detailing, mothers Powerpolish lang option ko pag meron na RO/DA polisher. un cutting power nya depende din pala sa gagamitin na pad. so if i will use Lake Country foam pads:

yellow- aggressive cutting/scratch removal
orange- medium cutting/scratch removal
white- fine polish
black- ultra fine polish/finesse buffing

so to edit my mothers based regimen...

almost daily - Showtime Instant Detailer - for dust cleaning and shine
once a week - FX Spray Wax - for deeper shine/gloss and protection
monthly - Pure Carnauba Wax - more protection
every 2 months - Carnauba Cleaner Wax - for cleaning of contaminants and protection (non abrasive polish)
(pag meron na) Power Polish on RO/DA polisher- polish when deemed necessary only (when there are defects like swirls/scratches), and for enhancing gloss...

with experts willing to give true advice, panalo ang mga newbies like me. bibilhin lang un kailangan, and iwas din sa chance na ma damage un auto in using the products the wrong way. tnx again...

Mga bro.... need your help/suggestions on how to deal with water spots? My car is brand new about 3 weeks pa lang ng magkaroon nito just yesterday.... tried cleaning with water/joy pero di ko matanggal..... tsk..tsk...

if sa glass windows. try mo un distilled white vinegar. dip a clean cloth sa vinegar, squeeze excess, then rub gently with little pressure dun sa water spots. iwas lang malagyan un plastic trim holding the windows... meron din konti yun akin, pero bearable pa. i've also read pwede un chrome polish pang alis nang water spots sa glass windows...

if sa body, bad trip yan. un auto ko nag park lang ako last sunday sa mall, malapit sa grass area nang parking. meron cguro maintenance crew na nag dilig nang grass, ayun me water spots na sa front bumper... try mo muna cleaner wax. apply with soft foam applicator, with gentle rubbing dun sa water spots, then remove with clean microfibre cloth.

btw, un joy nag aalis nang wax yan sa body. not recommended pag naglalagay kna nang wax...

An alternative solution you can use for windshield watermarks is ELEVO watermark remover. Works like magic! You'll hardly break a sweat. (On the other hand... chemicals this powerful will most likely have harmful effects to exposed skin, so be sure to wear gloves.)

If the watermarks are on your car's paint, then like *manny31671 said, bad trip na bad trip talaga yan.

Try to examine the watermark closely. Kung naka alsa, then pwede mo pa siguro matanggal yan with cleaner wax. Kung naka-lubog, baka water-etching na yan due to acid rain. If that's the case, then you'll have no other alternative but to use a polish to buff out the defect.

Guys, anong magandang pang-maintain pag gumamit ng glass science scrub then gel? nakakatanggal ng water marks yung scrub di ba? i'm planning to buy this weekend.

right now, i'm just using polyglaze then for daily maintenance i just use microtex duster. the problem is, after i use microtex duster, it leaves oily marks.

what can suggest for cleaning the glass inside the car?

bumili din ako microtex ultimate duster dati (sa Blade), meron nga wax streaks. then binasa ko un literature nya- ...may leave minor wax streaks on initial use... pero ayos lang, usually first step naman un duster sa regular cleaning, then follow up with glass cleaner for the windows and instant/quick detailer for the body, alis un wax streaks...

un sakin kahit matagal na meron padin wax streaks, so palagi gamit ko un nalang static duster na binili ko sa DIY shop sa mall (only 35 Php). para hindi na ako mag aalis nang wax streaks. pag madumi na static duster, bili na ako bago, then un luma pang linis nalang nang dust sa engine compartment and pang alis nang brake pad powder sa wheels...

for tinted windows, cguro damp microfibre cloth lang pwede pang linis sa loob. ako pag sumakay na mga bata and kumain sila sa loob nang auto (kahit anung pigil sa kanila, hindi talaga maiwasan meron kakain sa loob nang auto), pag uwi linis na kagad sa loob nang windows. hirap baka mag dry un finger marks nila, lalo na pag kumain sila nang fries or un madikit gaya nang lolipop

Balot nyo lang yung Microtex Duster sa news paper ng mga 2 days para ma soak up nya yung excess wax para di leave ng streaks. And the more na nagagamit yung duster mas nagiging effective siya and nababawasan yung wax streaks

Since I've found the Glass Science Rain Clear Gel to be very durable, water spots that are hard to remove won't be that much of a problem. Just clean the glass as you usually do when you do your car wash. In my experience, sufficient na yun for many months.

Yes, but you might find some spots hard to remove, in which case, you could do several applications, or use another product.

Just like the advice above, wrap the new duster in newspaper for a couple of days.

Haven't used many products for the interior glass. For me, the Eagle One works well. I've found that using a yellow applicator pad to spread the product in 1x1 sections, then wiping that section off with a dry microfiber towel before the product dries, and following it up with another dry microfiber towel is effective.
