i'm a newbie here guys ska wala tlga ako alam sa mga cars,i bought a 2nd hand Sentra Super touring 96 model,the car is repainted already since i acquired it from the 2 owners already i'm the 3rd,guys ask ko lng kung pwde ko ba sya uli ipa-repaint?what paint can u suggest for a budget of 15-20k?aalisin ba muna nila ung dating kulay or papatugan n lng nila?tnx a lot in advance!

Is the paint job or condition that bad? the car isnt that old yet... wait until it gets more scratches before getting a paint job. Try mo padetail muna or ask sa bigberts(bigberts.com) or meguiars for their opinion.

Usually wash over lang yan, unless na gusto mo strip to bare metal, mas mahal yun.

gamitin mo muna parang mga taxi nung araw. He he he.... pero seriously kung ok pa naman eh tyagain mo muna ung paint ng car mo. Pero if ever ayaw mo na talaga nung color eh washover na lang wag na strip to metal.

no need to strip to metal pag walang rust buildup. Hilamos lang ok na yan.

everything shall be stripped down, leaving nothing except the metal structure / frame / chassis. in this case, you'll be starting from scratch; meaning you'll be putting on the primer and so on and so forth. this is quite expensive.

with regards to your first question, if you don't like the color and you have the money to burn, then by all means do it.

no hindi ka naman kailangan pag strip to metal to remove the existing color.

misconception.

definitely hindi lang naman basta papatungan ng paint yan di ba? a well-defined process if you go to a accredited shop will definitely take care of all of that. syempre may sanding, compounding, masilya and other details / processes that your car has to go through if you're going for a repaint.

search the threads here for some paint shops that have been given the tsikot seal of approval.. hehehe

Ok lang yan kahit ilang repaint na... yung luma namin na car naka 3-4 (? > purple > blue > blue) repaints na yata yun (2 previous owners), pero 22 years old na yung car... hehe

Well, at least madali hanapin yung car mo sa parking lot, tapos carnappers will avoid it dahil madali maspot dahil kakaiba yung kulay.

If you can live with the color for now, pabayaan mo muna...

Usually pag hilamos or washover, they sand down the old paint until it reaches the primer. Di pwede yung "ipapatong" lang kasi magpepeel off yung paint kung ganon.
