Off-roading at the most is a once a month activity. At the least siguro, it's a once a year thing. For the rest of the time, maganda namang malinis yung sasakyan. Especially for us na yun din ang daily driver.

A clean vehicle prevents rust from happening and makes servicing easier (no caked on dirt to impede you)

It's like DIYing. Once you start wrenching, puro grasa ka. Pero maliligo ka rin at the end of the day (well, there are those that don't )...

Truth is, the fun is in the process of doing either one, offroading or detailing.

Yep, ika nga nila: "Half the fun is getting there."

Magastos kung gusto mo talaga show quality ek-ek. But for most of us, underwash, engine wash, body wash and wax ok na.

^^^ Ang pagkakaintindi ko kasi sa detailing eh you try to bring back the showroom (original) quality of your car's paint. And syempre, it'll involve extra tools and chemicals. Bale yung underwash, engine wash, body wash and wax alone (I mean, each of them respectively) would not qualify as "detailing".
