When should you replace your Microtex duster? Medyo brownish na yung tips nung mga fibers, pero yung mid to inner portion pula pa (since hindi naman napapahid sa kotse.) Medyo matagal na rin sa akin, mga a year na? not sure.
Actually, kaya ako napa-isip kasi something weird happened when I was dusting the car this morning. As I dusted the trunk (which was illuminated by the sunlight as compared to the rest of the car), I noticed a LOT of scratches as I wiped! But when I finger-swiped it, na wala, parang pag nag wax ka! I couldn't buff it off with just MF towels, so I went ahead with SwirlX and it did the job naman. (I just realized maybe I should have tried QD first.) I didn't check the rest of the car kung may wax scratches due to the duster; parang wala naman.
Anyway, I'm thinking there is wax coming off the duster and adhering to the car. Which brings me to a previous problem posted before (by PSI yata yun) that using the microtex duster may remove the wax layering of your car. I'm starting to think that this could be true. OR, the reason nabawasan yung beading effect of your car wax is because na patungan ng wax nung duster which doesn't bead siguro.
So, probably best if palitan regularly yung duster to avoid the wax of the duster from clinging to your car.

oo nga naman. sometimes the most obvious answer is not what comes to your mind first. hehe.
just got my microtex duster also, yung small lang. i find it better that i dust off the car muna using a plain "string or filament" duster. parang ganito:
kapag medyo dusty ang car and you use the waxed duster, parang nagkaroon ng smearing/ smudging.

if you'll read the back label, nakalagay dun sir na may wax talaga yung parang noodles. kainis yung sakin, naipit sa pinto, nabasag tuloy handle ng duster ko. either bumili ako ng bago or balutan ko na lang tape yung handle.

mga sir pahapyaw lang dapat yung sweeping motion niyo to minimize or avoid wax streaks.
sir frake - try putting some mighty bond and assemble your broken duster handle... it works and solid ulit yung handle niya.
