    Hi Guys,

Ask ko lang kung ano ang recommended nyo na wax for this rainy season to protect your cars. Ginagamit ko kasi turtle wax carnuba lang. Pag minsan Turtle wax ice. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

My favorite wax for rainy days is Soft99 RV Black. It may not be as shiny as my usual wax, but it has very good water repellent qualities that lasts for weeks. After driving through rain, all I need to do is to tap the brakes to make the roof, trunk and hood shed all the water away.

Kainis nga lang.. I got mine from Concorde years ago. Malapit nang maubos. Wala na akong makitang "new stock".

I'd say stick with your TW ICE, but wax more often. Maybe you can re-apply every weekend.

i use megs nxt 2.0. ok beading propeties nito kaso prone mag water spots after. Also using formula 1 carnauba pwede na din matagal din basta iwas shampoo and tuyuin agad ang car after driving sa ulan. Sigurado tanggal wax if you let rainwater sit on your paint overnight

Afaik, TW ICE is non-abrasive product. You can safely use it every week if needed.

Always remember that the rain we're getting in Metro Manila is not clean. It's full of pollutants (acid rain) which can quickly etch into your paint when not protected with wax or sealant.

Handyman also carries some Soft99 products. May nakita ako ilang products nila sa Robinsons Pioneer.

Personally I use Simoniz Max Wax. Okey naman. I'm a relative detailing newbie though.

Just rinse it with a mildy flowing water, hindi na kailangang patuyuin with a chamois since mababasa din uli yung car sa ulan.

NuFinish holds better on rainy days and even hot weather. no hard buffing needed and last more than six months in my experience.

you know what my take on this, any reputable brand ng wax will do good on your paint, anyway it's raining more or less you're going to wash your car din naman, then just wax again after washing your car..so it won't really make any difference kung mahal na brand or yun mura..the important thing is wax your car regularly...

    Yep! That's the best policy.
Also, you don't have to do the whole car after you wash. Just remember that the horizontal surfaces take the most punishment from the elements.
If you're strapped for time, after you wash, you can probably be okay by just rewaxing the hood, then the boot, then the roof (depending on how much time you've got).

The hood takes the most punishment -- engine heat + rainwater + sun + cats. You'll probably want to have a fresh coat of wax on your hood often, especially when it's raining.

Next comes your trunk/boot -- water + sun + fingerprints from the mall parking security checks (grrr). You'll definitely also want to re-wax as often.

Last is the roof -- water + sun + occasional bird bomb.

I agree with shadow and ess. You just have to wash and/or wax often. As to what brand of shampoo or wax, use that which works for you.

Incidentally, I found this on youtube:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZTK6HBaxI4"]YouTube - Self Cleaning Paint[/ame]

Wash and wax often pa kaya tayo?
