June 4th, 2009 04:34 PM #1Hi Guys,
Ask ko lang kung ano ang recommended nyo na wax for this rainy season to protect your cars. Ginagamit ko kasi turtle wax carnuba lang. Pag minsan Turtle wax ice. Eh yung ice isang ulan lang wala na yung carnuba naman hirap i-buff. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

June 4th, 2009 05:12 PM #2My favorite wax for rainy days is Soft99 RV Black. It may not be as shiny as my usual wax, but it has very good water repellent qualities that lasts for weeks. After driving through rain, all I need to do is to tap the brakes to make the roof, trunk and hood shed all the water away.
Kainis nga lang.. I got mine from Concorde years ago. Malapit nang maubos. Wala na akong makitang "new stock".
I'd say stick with your TW ICE, but wax more often. Maybe you can re-apply every weekend.Last edited by ess; June 4th, 2009 at 05:42 PM.

i use Dupont Cera de Carnauba wax... very easy to apply and buff, lasts for months and has very good water repelling qualities also.

i use megs nxt 2.0. ok beading propeties nito kaso prone mag water spots after. Also using formula 1 carnauba pwede na din matagal din basta iwas shampoo and tuyuin agad ang car after driving sa ulan. Sigurado tanggal wax if you let rainwater sit on your paint overnight

June 5th, 2009 01:30 PM #6Nope. Hindi masama sa paint ang weekly application. Masama lang sa wallet dahil mabilis mauubos yung TW ICE.
Afaik, TW ICE is non-abrasive product. You can safely use it every week if needed.
Mas masama para sa paint ng car mo kung mawala yung protective/wax layer. Always remember that the rain we're getting in Metro Manila is not clean. It's full of pollutants (acid rain) which can quickly etch into your paint when not protected with wax or sealant.

Handyman also carries some Soft99 products. May nakita ako ilang products nila sa Robinsons Pioneer.
Personally I use Simoniz Max Wax. Okey naman. I'm a relative detailing newbie though.

Ang gamit kong wax especially pag rainy season ay yung Turtle Wax na may green at white liquid (nalimutan ko na yung name). Mixture ng shampoo at wax na kasi. Just rinse it with a mildy flowing water, hindi na kailangang patuyuin with a chamois since mababasa din uli yung car sa ulan. Water-repellant at makintab ang car finish.
