by itself, no, it's not "bad", but if you realize some facts and unavoidable consequences, then you'll realize why it's not only impractical to use too much, but also counterproductive.

the haze and powdery residue that you see is nothing more than solidified wax that your paint can't "use" anymore, the thicker that residue is, the harder it is to buff off.

the more residue, the more chances that those residue act like mini sand granules that scratch your paint...

it also stains rubber moldings and other porous surfaces...

lastly, it's like opening your bottle of wax and pouring out half of it down the drain if you use too much...
