January 7th, 2015 12:39 PM #1712Ziebart is temporary protection. Tulad ng sinabi ng friend mo, no need to wax for 6 months. Opti-coat 2.0 is permanent protection. It is a paint coating, ceramic based clear coat. No need to wax for the life of the car.
The key thing before applying Opti-coat 2.0 is the preparation stage. The paint should be perfect as much as possible before application.
Steps: Car wash > Polish > 15% IPA Solution (Isopropyl Alcohol + Water) > Opti-coat 2.0
Opti-Coat Pro / Optimum Gloss Coat

January 10th, 2015 10:27 AM #1714Quick Detailer is not a substitute to wax or sealant. They are only used for quick touch ups. Expect the extra shine or beading to last 1-3 days, depending on the brand.
Quick Detailer Spray History
The quick detail spray market was created in 1981 by Meguiar's who released a product called Meguair's Trigger Wash. After realizing the name caused some confusion with consumers, Meguiar’s changed the product name to Meguiar's Quik Detailer. The product completely defined a new market and remains one of Meguiar’s top sellers.
Quick detailers, which are often called waterless washes, are commonly used by detailers and car enthusiasts to put the finishing touch on a freshly detailed vehicle. Quick Detail Spray products quickly and easily remove water spots, streaks, dust and other light contamination. The special formulations evaporate quickly to prevent further spotting, lubricate to prevent scratching and contain gloss enhancers to refresh your just waxed shine. Today, every major car care brand has a quick detailer or waterless wash type product in their line-up. For the car enthusiast, a quick detailer is more than just a convenience; it is a necessity and part of their car care routine.Last edited by red_one; January 10th, 2015 at 11:23 AM.

January 10th, 2015 11:37 AM #1716planning to do some DIY deailing and needs some inputs so pls correct me if I may have some Questions ;
I saw a Mother clay kit with an 80gram clay , is it advisable to just use the half of it?enough for SUV use?
if doing claying, do you still wash after claying?
if removing some asphalts on some panels does claying removes it? i've read that kerosene can remove it , using kerosene is it before claying ?
after claying do you apply some IPA or do you just do a quick carwash?
if applying KAIO you need to wait for it to cure for 8 hours?if some dust settles in the surface during the curing period , just wipe it with a microfiber before applying the KSG?
does KSG has a curing period before applying the 476?
thanks for the inputs guys

if doing claying, do you still wash after claying? yes or no but a quick wash will do
if removing some asphalts on some panels does claying removes it? i've read that kerosene can remove it , using kerosene is it before claying ? use kerosene before claying
after claying do you apply some IPA or do you just do a quick carwash? just a quick wash
if applying KAIO you need to wait for it to cure for 8 hours?if some dust settles in the surface during the curing period , just wipe it with a microfiber before applying the KSG? KAIO have no curing time, its KSG that have curing time.
does KSG has a curing period before applying the 476? yes, 4-8 hrs will do, apply very thinly
it looks like your routine is wash > clay > kaio > ksg > 476. goodluck and enjoy DIY detailing
