December 6th, 2010 01:28 AM #1037Guys what can you suggest on keeping the shine of the 3M Hand Glaze? Is it okay to reapply it once it wears off the paint?

Glad to hear a lot went to the EB and learned a lot :D Sad ako kasi hindi ako naka-punta last minute. Daughter had high fever last night and so medyo bantay today; although subsided din naman towards mid morning.
*PSI - pa-galing ka; baka naman nasosobrahan ka na sa detailing... hehe

had to do some back reading, i dont know if someone already answred this...
476s will take a lot of effort to remove, even when using household detergents (although, please... don;t try household grade products on your car)... So I'd prolly say that if you use any shampoo made for cars, the 476s would stand it...
Now, you'd just have to find a shampoo good enough to let your 476s last for as long as it can... if you're on a budget, get MIcrotex Sampoo, or if you wanna save more with a bulk buy, go to big berts an buy a whole gallon of their shampoo
I won't recommend washing your car without shampoo. Car shampoo is necessary in washing to:
1. Provide lubricity to the water to lessen the likelihood that the dirt wont scratch your car when you wipe it off.
2. Easily melt down (or decompose) road filem, grease, grime and other dirt that water and wiping won't just take off. (This is what foam wash does great, when you leave the foam shampoo on the car and let it slide down)
3. Add gloss, some shampoos have an effect that add to or compliments your car's overall shine.
Hope this helps...

December 6th, 2010 05:29 PM #1040just got back from out of town... washed and protected with 1 week old 476s and OCW... tapos left at the open parking at the airport for 2 days and 2 nights...
it's not even the open parking at Centennial three where it's a bit isolated... that one was full so I had to park at an open parking right in front of the highway... when I got back to my car this afternoon.. ung black car, brown na... rain, pollution, brake dust, etc... I didn't even drive my car and now i have one hell of a detailing job...
when the vacation ends... work starts...
i feel bad wala ako ng last na EB, I hope everyone took home a lot of good lessons...
I agree with migs, pag anjan na ung sealant, sealing naman ang topic!
So it's another case of "pwede na iyan" once again. It's that kind of thinking that will put...
