thanks a lot...will try it on sunday kung di nga po matanggal sa car shampoo yung inapply ko na 476 the other day...
by the way, kung may inapply ako na parang QD after 476 (pero di nagpapabead yun) magbebead pa kaya yun since napatungan ko ng QD na hindi nagpapabead ng water?
Doc, question. Diba may Mothers FX Spray Wax ka? Maganda ba siya gawing booster sa 476? TIA.![]()
cosmetically, less streaking compared sa nanosliq, with comparable shine. pero less shiny than OGE
regarding protection... inferior sya sa OCW - mas maaga natatanggal yung 476 kung mother's FX spray wax lang gamit. not sure if kasing tibay or mas matibay ang sliq
sa ease of application, minimal buffing required after spreading.
okay lang naman yung mothers FX, pero parang mas cost-effective ang sliq
mga sir, question po, ano ba talaga ang musta have combo for the 476 focusing more on protection and longer effectiveness? its for a bnew white car with covered garage. protection ang main concern ko so as to preserve its beauty. from reading, ang nasa isip ko is nanogloss, 476 then nanosliq tama po ba or is there something else in between? OCW and OGE? medyo overwhelming kasi sa dami ng classifications hehe... thanks!
OK na ung combo, you can top 476 with Sliq for maximum beading or OGE for regular beading but boosted gloss...
Depending on the weather, I'd use Sliq (rainy), OGE (sunny) or both (addict mode!)
as for OCW, OCW is a spray wax that is in the same category as other finishing waxes like 476s, Moms Step 3, etc... it's unbelievalble, but master Ed showed us this car product review site that did not include OCW under spray waxes but was rated as a finishing wax... anyway, you can actaully use OCW instead of 476, pero syempre, iba tibay ng colllinite and other major paste waxes...
anyway, because of OCW's ease of use, most people use it as a spray booster wax to protect, their finishing wax... this is what I actaully do.... top my 476 with OCW so my waxing regimen is farther in between... the only thing about OCW, while it is an excellent product, is that it SHEETS, more than it can BEAD water. This simply means that applying OCW on top of 476 will make the beading less tighter... the advantage with sheeting naman, is that it's easy to dry the car via water sheeting...
If you're into the aesthetics of beading, then you may see this as a sacrifice... but beading is merely aesthetic. Functionally, clear coat topped with 476s and OCW is better than 476 alone..
I myself didnt use OCW before as I was so addicted to beadin, but after doing some reading on beading vs sheeting, my eyes got opened with some good facts...
you can classify 476s with nanoglos and OCW, sliq with OID so you only have two, waxes and wax boosters.
for better protection, use a sealant at the start. it's a hard protective layer which is really inconvenient to apply such that it needs to be protected with wax.
zooming out, you have these in descending degree of application inconvenience:
- car paint, generally the clear coat
- sealants
- waxes
- wax boosters
each product minimizes the application of the layer before it.
each product is generally less durable than the one before it.
you can simply use:
the microtex nano twins, which work together and maintain with the sliq or;
476s, which is the toughest. You can maintain it with the sliq.
you may also just double your application of the longer lasting product that you have on hand instead of finding a similar one to put on top of it, unless the latter is more convenient or economical than the former.
later on you can opt to further simplify or complicate ;)
Noob question here,
After Step 1, I'll put Nano Glos, wait for 1 hour then buff, then 4hours for curing time before applying 476. tama po ba? what's next if I plan to put OCW and Nano Sliq? what would be the time gaps in between the next two?
thanks!
*rico g & *indiej - Thank you sirs for those great insights! now medyo nalinawan na ako... so, its 476 then OCW or sliq.
Now, with regards to sealants, gano kahirap mag apply ng sealants? as to what sir indiej stated, it is somewhat hard to apply, kailangan ba magpa sealant ako sa detailing shops like BB? or pwede ba DIY? is a polisher necessary or can it be done by hand or with just my kp600?
re; sa beading and sheeting naman, pano naging aesthetically good pag may beading? doesn't drops / beads of water becomes like a magnifying glass when hit by sunlight? hindi ba mas dangerous yun sa paint? unlike sa sheeting, mas konti ang natitirang water sa panels kaya mas "safer" in some ways??...

it's as easy as anything to apply. the care, preparation, and the curing time is what's troublesome.
so, again, we're back to the list. we want to protect the clear coat, then we want to do that to the sealant, then to prolong the life of the expensive wax.
beauty and beholder. you're right. it all comes down to how much water is left on the paint. beads also roll off, but mostly when there's wind. i'm not sure if rain sheets off paint, unless a flow is coming from a rain gutter.re; sa beading and sheeting naman, pano naging aesthetically good pag may beading? doesn't drops / beads of water becomes like a magnifying glass when hit by sunlight? hindi ba mas dangerous yun sa paint? unlike sa sheeting, mas konti ang natitirang water sa panels kaya mas "safer" in some ways??...
I guess the only one with the curing time is the NanoGlos? how about the others? is there any waiting time after the products have been applied before buffing? like for the Sliq, it says in the back label that I need to buff it after 15 mins, correct me if I'm wrong.. thanks!
*rico_g:
sir tama po ba to nabili ko...mother's carnauba pre-wax cleaner phase 1=mother's step 1..yan kasi nakalagay....then pano po ba maganda pag apply nito...balak ko kasi mag apply na sa car ko. para makumpleto yung step's sinabi mo;
mother's step 1
IPA wipedown
nanogloss

OCW = bibilhin kopa kay madkatz
