June 30th, 2010 01:42 AM #5262Actually i would still recommend buying Step 1 2 and 3 either Moms of Megs for that matter for the following reasons
Step 1 pre wax cleaner - while it is true that claying can remove any layer of protection from the paint i don't think you would always want to clay your car right? so this is where pre-wax cleaner steps in, lets say you're like me that seals and waxes my car multiple times 3 to 4 times a year, lets just make it 4 times a year, and after the first quarter of your complete claying with Step1 to 3 and multiple layers, and the paint is still smooth, are you gonna clay the whole car to slap on layers of sealants and waxes again? using this product makes that easier.
Step 2 - this depends on whether its mothers or megs, if its moms step 2 then you could always use this for filling and adding gloss to the paint whenever needed, and for megs, although it doesn't fill as much as mothers, megs step 2 can produce a better shine IMO for darker cars.
Step 3 - i don't think you would be waxing each week or every 2 weeks with a collinite right? thats gonna run through your pocket really soon, so why don't you just use this for those inbetween wax sessions and save a little more money by using a good wax to boost you existing main/protection wax.

June 30th, 2010 01:53 AM #5266Aww sad to hear that, hmmm the only possible explanation i could think of would be that there wasn't enough lubrication for ONR to remove the dirt, did you try to use is as a waterless wash? because if you're using the QD solution it should be very slick and slippery but if you removed it the wrong way then you might actually have scraped off the 476, but 476 should not be easily removed since mine lasts a long time, tell you what, why don't you tag along one of these days when we have a detailing session and have my BF put it on.

June 30th, 2010 02:00 AM #5269Up with this one, even degreasers have a hard time removing collinite waxes so it might really be the way you used the ONR or something thats also very possible is acid rain, long term exposure can really reduce wax durability and beading, i mean its also the first time i saw my multiple sealant and wax protection show any sign of giving up on me, its been months and its always maintained its beading and shine except this week, its like its been raining vinegar or something, its one of the few times i saw water mark mineral deposits on my paint thats not removed with washing!
