November 10th, 2009 06:07 PM #2982jmpet - thanks for your suggestion on the kp600, although mero'n na kaming drill sa bahay, my bro used it on his car and ok naman ang result nya. i also bought wax applicator and buffing pad for the power tool, will use it next time i wax the car.
madkatz - again, thanks for your detailed reply. it goes to show that you really know a lot about detailing! as for having bigbert's do the detailing, maybe i'll pass that for now, will try experimenting with the different chemicals muna, i'm planning on putting a body kit naman in a couple of months and changing the color of my ride, so the real purpose of me spending on the materials is to get some experience on detailing, so when i get my new-look car, i'd know what to do.
i read somewhere that you spent 60k on your materials? that's already good for 2 washovers!

November 10th, 2009 10:48 PM #2983*drifter: oh i see, thats nice then, at least once you change you cars color you're already great at maintaining you paint. yup hahaha 60k it is, first i was just a compulsive buyer wanting to try everything on the shelf and before i knew it viola! im up to 60k already not to mention my upcoming shipment from autogeek adding more to the 60k, its like i just can't help it but be excited to try out new products when it comes to detailing and probably figure out whats the best for what job hehe but i guess its all worth it, i learned what works and what doesn't, i got lots of products to use on other cars thats less sensitive and delicate hehe 60k would just be about 1 wash over if its a very nice paint used hehe costed me around that to have my revo painted with PPG and ceramiclear clear coat, but im so happy with the results, my revo's still shiny as the day it was painted and it has no swirls, i guess it really is scratch resistant.

November 12th, 2009 11:22 PM #2987*Drifter: haha, actually i just wash it every week and wax it every month alternating the revo and innova, but i do get to detail a lot of cars, my friends and i spend time now every other sunday detailing cars, my deal with them is that i detail their cars and i take care of the items used but if i do something wrong they don't take it against me, this way i get to test different products and see which ones really work at the same time improve my detailing skills and if i make some mistake they don't really mind haha, Oh yeah if you're planning on getting a new paint job, you might want to try and invest on some glazes, those that would give some protection at the same time would be safe for newly painted cars still on the curing stage. Good luck on your upcoming paint job.

November 13th, 2009 04:45 PM #2989*drifter: hahaha im seriously no master detailer, and there's a lot i still don't know, as for detailing your ride, i'll pass for now, im really scared of messing up someone's car even if i just get some wax on some trims on my friends car i kinda feel bad already, maybe when the day comes that im quite confident with my skills, who knows, speaking of a master detailer, check this out, http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/ can you believe how much this guy charges? and look at the cars he details, now thats what i call a master detailer.
Oh yeah can someone else confirm if this is true? a regular detailing shop i go to when im too lazy told me that using armor-all would make the surfaces brittle if treated repeatedly, and the after repeated applications the surface will slowly crack and fade its outer layer leaving a white chipped surface.
Also does anybody know how to remove wax residues on rough plastic trims?

lots of redundancy right? but for a guy that can charge more than 5k USD for a detail, i wouldn't call it ridiculous
this is just crazy both in a good and a bad sense, just want to share
In that case, I think NCAP is something that they have privatized.
SC (temporarily) stops NCAP
