    theveed,
parang hindi scratches eh..noticed it nga kanina..di siya natatanggal...hehe how much po ba magpa-wetsand sa inyo? baka may discount since you're itching to do it naman eh...hehehe by the way, di ako nagpakilala sa nag-assist sa akin nung bumili ako ng car shampoo sa inyo kanina..wonder who that was....

thanks..yun nga eh..walang depth unlike dark colors..so shine na lang talaga..but still can't wax it though since it has only been a month since it was repainted..or pwede na?

by the way, how long should the glaze stay on after applying it? hirap kasi makita kung nag-haze na eh..

more or less pwede na since may one month na. during that time, nag-outgas na ang paint.. lalo na kasi summer.

usually polishes are to be removed immediately. but as for glazes, some people prefer to remove it kaagad, some prefer to wait for it to haze.

if I do remember correctly, the instructions at the back say that the product has to haze before removing. this is what I do. try swiping it with your finger and see if its ok to remove. in my case, I usually give it 15 mins. BTW, apply in very thin coats. IHG is very finicky when it comes to this.

Looks like some sort of micro marring based on the pic. Try to have it detailed first using a polish, ofcourse from the least abrasive to the most abrasive, wet sanding should be your last option...

    ild,
i'll let the professionals do it na lang (bigberts) hirap na eh..baka ano pa magawa ko hehehe

    dehadista,
yeah, pag sobrang tagal na leave on yung glaze, medyo hirap tanggalin..talagang you have to work to remove it.

guys, i tried applying cleaner wax dun sa isang car..i didnt finish kasi umuulan na nun..hehe semi-covered kasi yung lot namin eh..anyway, ang hirap palang ipantay ang kulay nun...kakainis..akala ko one or two wipes with that wax ok na..you need to put a LOT of elbow grease to work it off...wiping it off was not that bad naman. im seriously thinking of getting it exterior detailed at bigberts muna and then maintenance na lang.

kapagod talaga pag kamay lang. that's why I prefer using a machine in application and working on vehicles. mabilis and very consistent ang results. it produces a shine a whole lot better than using your bare hands.

with a ROP, more or less 4-5 minutes ang wax application ko on sedan-sized vehicles.

    Hi guys,

I just did my first "detailing" (actually more of wash and wax) job yesterday.
I did it on my dad's xtrail. Now my whole upper body really hurts! (I last washed a car a decade ago)

Here were the my steps in my first foray into detailing:

    1) Wash using Zymol Shampoo
    2) Clay using mothers clay and zymol detailer as QD (diluted in water)
    3) Glaze using 3M IHG
    4) Wax using 3M SCLW

    Pix:

This is the only before pic I got. I took this after washing the car. Unfortunately, I was called inside before I could take a few more pics and I forgot when I got back.

Hood after waxing. I neglected to get the same angle as my first shot. I also took this at a different time and place. (Since I had to move the car)

    Side

Obviously I have a long way to go. Not really shiny (just looks clean). What I did like was that the paint was now really really smooth!
    Observations:
Zymol QD works well with clay. It really lubricated the surface to a point where there were several times the clay left my hand and almost fell to the ground (almost! Whew!).

I never tried glazing before but IHG was easy to work in and remove. So was the 3M SCLW! I left the wax to dry for 30 minutes and removed it after. BTW, when buffing, do I just wipe off the wax or wipe it out with a lot of effort as if polishing (what I did was halfway through those extremes since I was really tired).

My whole upper body and lover back is now aching.

I'm not sure how to get more shine/depth out of what I used.

BTW, I used the xtrail last night and it rained.. Would that affect the curing of the wax? I hope not. I don't want to do this again any time soon with the xtrail. too big! I'm only going to do my own car in the future.

Also, how do I remove wax residue (it was there before I did all this) from the nooks and crannies of the car? I already have a toothbrush ready!

    I'm open to comments/suggestions/criticisms!
