Yeah... it should be okay.
The only detailing clays I've seen available are Mothers (sa True Value) and Soft99 (sa Concorde). Old stock na yung Soft99 sa concorde old stock na. I forgot how much they cost though.. siguro nasa 1kphp range.
Meron yan. Try visiting their website or sending him a PM.
Actually... it would probably be more practical if you send your car to his shop for the initial treatment. Tapos, just maintain by regular washing and waxing.
Question lang on EO WAUD, I mixed it 1:1 with distilled water for use as a QD, bird dropping cleaner. Can I use it under direct sunlight?
its been a while since I visited this thread.. mahaba-haba na pala. I've been purposely avoiding to polish my ride for a couple of months na. gusto kong ipunin yung swirls and light scratches muna before removing them. finally decided to start at it this weekend. hehehehe
userfriendly: QD under direct sunlight? I think I've done that before during times na OC talaga ako but normally, I try to avoid that.. kung tulad na ng bird poo, pinapaabot ko na lang sa bahay tapos diretsong car wash. usually, I QD when the vehicle's alot cooler.
bankai: there are different kinds and qualities of MF's available out there. try to look for the ones that are really plush and offer good nap.. BTW, anlaki ng towel na yan ah.anyway, how is it so far?
antz-z: yup, go ahead and detail your car. maganda nga habang brand new pa lang you're treating it right. helps a lot to preserve the looks of your car. last time I checked, yung Soft99 clay nasa 600 petot lang. pero that's old stock na so you're better off with Mom's.
thanks sa advise bossing... f/up question ko lang, what's the step to preserve yung paint ng new car? tama po ba 'tong natutunan ko or meron pa po bang kulang?
1. wash using 3m car shampoo
2. dry using microtex yellow cloth
3. dilute 3m car shampoo with water then apply sa car bago i-clay using soft99 <- is this step necessary?
4. rinse with water then dry
5. wax with mother's carnauba (since red yung color ng car)
6. apply eagle 1 wet wipe & shine
thanks...
never hurts to clay.hindi naman nakakapagod mag-clay. just glide.
helps a lot in smoothening out the surface of your ride. just make sure to lubricate the surface.
yung QD can be used together with CCD in between car-wash sessions as maintenance in between your major details unless your car's really dirty (dried up mud, rain / nabasa...). in this case, washing your car is your best bet.
so bossing, ok na yung mga steps na ni-list ko? no need for the glaze, polish, seal steps? medyo naguguluhan pa kasi ako dito sa 3 steps na 'to e..
salamat...
in truth, mahirap i-base ang detail plan on a defined "generic" 3-step method. rather, its more of what your car actually needs and what you can actually do about it.
at this point, since brand new pa ang car, you can apply some glaze and seal your car with either a sealant or wax. as for polish? I'm willing to venture na wag muna...
after some time, you can "clean" and polish your car to bring back its luster and shine then seal with your preferred LSP.![]()
in between what steps po below ko ilalagay yung pag-glaze and pag seal? also, any brand you can recommend for glaze? seal?
1. wash using 3m car shampoo
2. dry using microtex yellow cloth
3. dilute 3m car shampoo with water then apply sa car bago i-clay using soft99 <- is this step necessary?
4. rinse with water then dry
5. wax with mother's carnauba (since red yung color ng car)
6. apply eagle 1 wet wipe & shine
salamat...
just got my CCD last night.. atat na ako gamiting kaso nakalagay sa instruction settle on a newspaper for 48 hours... also got some towels but i'm not sure kung saan ito best gamitin.. need your suggestions lang as based on experience...
1. ccd towel -> eto yung kasama dun sa CCD kit na binili ko..
2. microtex green -> used this as duster kaso meron na akong CCD
3. microtex blue
4. microtex yellow
5. jml MF cloth -> bought this at ace for interior kaso meron na din ako nung CCD for interior
thanks...
i'll go for mother's. you'll have the QD, pre-wax cleaner and the clay.
you can cut the claybar in half, safekeep the other half in an air tight plastic... 1st half lasted for 3 sessions only since there were a LOT of debris in my new car. the 2nd i'm still using but only for spot jobs since most of the car's surface is already smooth...it's a good buy! you'll definitely feel the diff on ur car's surface.
Yep! Stay away from the Soft99 clay unless you can guarantee that it's not old stock. If you find any at Concorde, it's most likely old stock.
I myself bought a Soft99 clay from Concorde. It's almost as tough as frozen beef! I had to dunk it in the mug of water and microwave it until it softened up. Afterwards, I had to knead it for some time to be soft enough not to dent the car...hehehehe... great forearm workout. Once softened, it did do a nice job taking out the embedded dirt from my car's surface. It even worked great at removing the overspray I picked up from EDSA courtesy of the boys painting the MRT wall.
