Hi Guys, I need your opinion....

I went to a honda casa to have the Paint protection (Petot2,600), when I got the car, I noticed that the entire car had swirl marks!!! I showed the marks to the SA and he advised me to return the car so that they can repair the damage they had done for free. Problem is that I've lost confidence in them(sabi kasi niya bago ako magpa PAint Protection ay " mga sanay titira niyan kaya alam nila kung kailan ititigil yung buffing!") But look at the photos below to check out the damage. Note that the car was very dusty when I took the shots. The lines are very noticable when it's clean and the swirl marks can be seen in the entire car.

It's either the buffer speed was too high or the pads were old! IMHO, the casa people should be skilled to do buffing work.

Option A - Do I return the car to the Casa (Free but are they really qualified to do the job) or
Option B - Bring it to Big Berts for a 3-step detailing? (I have to shell out money again)
DIY is not an option for me

Please help! 4 months old palang yung kotse tapos may swirl marks na

BTW, if this thread is OT, please tell me where to post it.

option A muna since its free. pag sumablay sila again. demand your money back since hindi maayos pagkakagawa nila or demand na irepaint nila since casa naman ang gumawa at kasalanan nila(overkill ) or its time for option B. then magreklamo or ireklamo mu yung Service advisor mo since siya ang kaharap mo sir.

Ubos nga lang clear coat kung hindi nila mahabol sa pag correct. Or baka gamitan lang ng Glaze ng casa yan like megs #80 para itago yung swirls then pag car wash mo babalik ulit.

Just bite the bullet and have it properly done at Big Berts than risk more damage to the paint.

Even if the casa would cover the "repair" to your car's paint, it would mean a few days in their paint shop.

Which would be a bigger inconvenience to you?

I agree with the earlier suggestion to go back to Casa and have it redone or demand your money back. You should not shell out additional money for a service that should have been done correctly in the first place done in an authorized dealer no less.

File a complaint na rin sa customer help desk nila and raise this issue with their manager para mabantayan.

sang casa yan bro? yung sa akin kasi the day na kinuha ko yung bnew car ko, pinunasan lang ng labakara (face towel) yung mga finger prints nila....nakakabuwisit.

Anyway, suggestion ko ipatingin mo muna kay BB and ask for their assessment/advice. Then you decide. Pero since under warranty pa iyan, dapat i-correct nila yun.

thanks guys for giving your help!

I plan to call up the SA in Honda tomorrow and ask for an x-deal.....instead of having them repair the paintjob for free, I'll instead ask them to wash the engine and do a future re-rustproofing and re-undercoating.

Sir you also might want to entrust your engine to BB. Since sinabi nyo na rin na nawala na yung confidence nyo sa Honda, pwede po na ipa-engine detail nyo na lang sa BB, at least you can be sure that BB knows the do's and don'ts in Engine Detailing. Also, engine wash kasi means using water eh. While engine detailing uses very little to no water at all meaning it's safe.

Hmmm, well if you really want the paint corrected then yeah better bring it to BB then, but doing that will also mean reduced clear coat, if i were you why not try to ask them to do a short panel for you first of how a 2 step would look like, this way you could see if you are already happy with the results of the 2 step, this would also mean less clear coat reduced compared to going directly to 3 step, if a 2 step is good enough for you then i would recommend you to just stick with it to save more clear coat, another thing you can do it fill in the swirls in the mean time and apply a nice coat of durable wax on top. One other thing if you're planning to have it 2 stepped then you might also want to have the paint protected again since doing a 2 step will definitely remove whatever paint protection was left.

I went to Honda and tried to negotiate for the terms i wanted but the SA apologizes fir the inconvenience. He assured me that he'll fix the damage done. He stated that the "best" guy will be the one to remedy the swirls.

I gave him a chance but it was a mistake The swirl marks are still quite evident in the car (I'll post photos after having the car washed para mas visible yung swirls, sobra alikabok kasi ngayon, hehe)

Oh well, next stop..... Big Berts

    Thanks guys for your comments!

    Lesson learned:
    1. never have the car washed in the casa and ALWAYS have the paint job buffed/protected/mainteined by a pro or...

The casa will only refund the amount I paid for the hydrophilic treatment. hugas kamay sila sa damage na nagawa sa clearcoat and other plastic areas in my car.

my next car surely WONT be a honda.

Kahit yung mga free car wash pag nagpa PMS dapat iwasan yan. Di maganda gamit nila.

Casa or Professional Detailer
