Went to Marikina the other day and they were laying down some asphalt (while raining! )

Well I washed the car today but the usual car shampoo didn't remove all those asphalt dots.

What's the best way to remove them? I was thinking lighter fluid...

don't use lighter fluid, it will discolor your paint.

if you can get hold aerosol tar remover, go get it

or you can use a little kerosene on a damp cloth and wipe the tar off, shampoo the panels you did and re-wax or seal

Isn't kerosene harsher than lighter fluid?

Same with mine, sealant ng concrete road ang nadaaanan ko.

Kahit nagbagal ako dumikit pa rin yung iba. Kerosene lang

Ginamit ko then shampoo okey na.

wd40 pwede pero minsan kasi nagrereact ang pintura namumuti s...don't exactly know whats inside wd40 but nung nilagyan nung driver ko yung keyhole sa hicae namin, yung tinuluan ng wd40 namuti.

kung yung lighter fulid mo eh butane...it will eveporate even before you can wipe it on the car, so its no use... but there are other lighter fluids that have a different chemical composition that can react with paint... but if you want to try using it... do it first sa plastic, kahit anong plastic... lagay ka few drops ng lighter fluid, pagnamuti yung plastic, chances are mamumuti din paint ng car.

kerosene kasi parang oil based sya doesn't react with paint as quickly like wd40 and lighter fluid... just prepare a bucket of car shampoo before you do tar removal with kerosene

kerosene will do. if you want you can go to any concorde store in sm and look for bug and tar remover. i bought a tar remover made by carplan in blue plastic bottle. works great. it set me back 300 petot.

Tingin ko wala ka nang magagawa kasi Honda ang car mo. Baka 'pag nadampian iyan ng Kerosene eh ma-strip to metal na.

Seriously, kerosene din ang gamit ko. Sometimes I dilute it in water and i always clean the area afterwards to remove any residual kerosene.

For more stubborn stuff I use thinner (don't try this at home).

mga sir how about denatured alcohol? minsan kasi problema ko rin yan me mga "blackheads" ung sasakyan at nabasa ko nga na ok kerosene kaso ala ako mabilan agad. went to a hardware store and they recommended denatured alcohol. tinry ko ok naman.. natanggal ung dumi.

would it have any adverse effect on the paint?
