what you say is true but only for conventional oils. Semi synthetic nga daw po ang gamit nya.

Appearance is only one parameter for usability of oil. There's also viscosity, water dillution, wear particles. Total Base Number.. etc...

and btw, the "semi" in semi-synthetic oil is your aforementioned conventional oil whose protective properties break down after 5k km or 3 months (as per manufacturer).

and because the conventional oil works hand in hand with the synthetic oil, it doesnt necessarily mean it (conventional oil) will have to breakdown after 5k km or 3 months.

Ive seen used oil and its colored black all the way.... why? Because the carbon molecules have brokendown from the oil (hydrocarbon)

the one in the pic is of burgundy/brown hue. Unusual for this service length, 22,000 km..

This can be attributed to the Per'tua additives.
