electric? I hate it but I would tend to agree with Mr. GH with regards to the inefficiency of EV's... until such time that Lithium Ion Batteries will become cheaper and mass produced and a better battery technology will be available.

For now, even the Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology is still too costly.

The cost per kilometer is the bottomline (including cost of car)

The concept must include existing platform - with better combustion technology included - like Mega Squirt and Hydrogen on Demand with Hydrocarbon augmenting systems.

You have heard of the Ronn Scorpion have you? Gov. Arnold I believe ordered one already. It's just a hybrid HHO honda engine. Thats a glimpse of things to come.

The Ronn Scorpion

Ronn Car Company chose to go a different way with the Scorpion, utilizing hydrogen fuel injection. The car produces hydrogen during vehicle operation through electrolysis of water generated from the vehicle’s electrical system. The hydrogen is injected with the regular fuel allowing for up to 50 percent better fuel efficiency than gasoline alone, reducing emissions. The Scorpion uses an Acura V-Tech, V-6, Type S, 3.5-liter engine capable of producing 450 horsepower. It stays light on its wheels using a carbon-fiber body. While not quite as emission free as the electrics, the Scorpion still manages a respectable 40 mpg. Ronn Motor Company plans future cars using fuel cell and electric technologies with an emphasis on design, performance and eco-responsibility.

Hate to bust your bubble on this car but a 40mpg 450 car is not a big deal, twin turbo corvettes get up to 33mpg and that's with larger fuel injectors and 255gph pumps. My Grand Prix GTP weighing in at 3600 pounds almost 1000 more than this car with 475hp to the wheels turned 32mpg hwy daily.

The fact that we have sand rails that get the same mpg with a 3.5 liter Honda motor proves this. They have a 12v electrical system on these cars just like all other vehicles the whole HHO bit is just a marketing scam to promote the car. Having a 2200lbs car getting 40mpg is not uncommon with modern engines.

The old Devil knows these engines well, Here's a single turbo honda 3.5 on the old sand rail, Gets 40+ mpg. You just can't help but push HHO.

Call me uninpressed with the claims I know are false, They failed to mention the mpg with the system off, hmmm wonder why? Some of us are SEMA members as well. Especially since we use these same engines and have customers with them.

If you didn't know the honda 3.5 and Acura one are mechanically identical. Just FWI and they get 30+ mpg already stock.

Is it just me or do you think a company this big could actually provide any proof there system works? Like all HHO it does not exist. This is just a marketing ploy to get sales, there should be no reason this car at 2200 pound not get 40mpg with no funny business.

Ronn Motors has delivered on at least one of its ambitious promises by delivering a real concept car to the SEMA Show that's currently taking place in Las Vegas. For its next trick, the fledgling automaker will try and convince those of us who are skeptical that its on-demand hydrogen electrolosis system, dubbed H2GO, actually has some sort of effect on the car's fuel mileage, emissions or performance. It will take real third-party evaluation before we're ready to jump on the bandwagon, as these types of systems have proven ineffective many times already. Let the debate rage on.

One thing that's not up for debate is the fact that the team at Ronn have crafted one seriously slippery-looking shape. Underneath that swoopy bodywork is a 3.5-liter V6 engine from Acura that's been force-fed with twin turbochargers. That engine is available in two levels of performance, the first offering 450-horsepower and the second, known as the HX, offers up 600 ponies according to the company. Ronn claims that a mixture of gas and hydrogen is combined with a 30-40 percent ratio of air. Fuel mileage stands at an estimated 40 mpg, but we don't know how that number was achieved. City or highway, and with which engine?

Yabangan time.



I built this with only P80K budget.

It consumes P50. worth of Diesel Fuel everyday - running from morning till evening - delivering Mineral Water to clients.

It was 1996 when this was built.

The delivery boys are 5'8" tall and has no back problems up to now since they do not crouch in the payload cabin.

The vehicle was commissioned to be used even before it was totally finished.

The doors are Bug wing type but were never installed.

The Cabin can hold about 150 x 5 gal. PET bottles with content. More without content.

This UVX was moonlighting as shuttle service everytime there is typhoon.

It is also accacionally street racing with 1600 EFi cars.

All built with limited capital. The Design exercise was driven by limited budget.

The ergonomics of this contraption was not practiced that time for utility vehicles with the front engined layout. A few years leter - Starex has come up with the same layout. The Upper Wind dam is not just cosmetic - it serves some function... extra cargo space as an overhead compartment for the driver cabin - very useful. It also difuses heat in the cabin since there is no AC.

This is a proof where the Golden 20 rule was applied and worked.

But dont take this as my way of playing your game.

By the way - I destroyed the patterns and molds of this vehicle. I only took the experience from it. It's all about dynamics. So dont go bragging about Efficient Cars with Extremely engineered Power to Weight ratios.

I'd rather explore a path nobody dared explored yet.
