For those who wish to build or rebuild a Pinoy car project... or even rebuild a flooded car - well - in essence - it becomes also a project by itself.
You may build a modern engine set-up without the original ECU.
MEGA SQUIRT VEMS (Vehicle Engine Management System) - an open source technology - replaces the defective ECU - and if it's an old car - pre-OBD1 or OBD2 - it can be converted to run with this technology with just a few modifications to be added like a single throttle body injector and an electronic ignition system and some sensors or probes.
To build one will require some time and learning curve - but of course it's worth it... provided you have the luxury of time.
At any rate, just thought we can share what we have to everyone.
Here's the blog-site for it.

So... how much does it cost to make? I've been interested in the MegaSquirt for a long time, but haven't taken the plunge yet.
One issue with the MegaSquirt is ensuring compatibility with the rest of the car's electronics... automatic transmissions... some instrument gauges... airbag control modules... body control modules... there are some things that Mega Squirt will not take care of, or which will take a lot of programming time to make functional.
A full standalone system like MegaSquirt can be made to work with a car... but to get it running as smoothly as "OEM" takes days... weeks... or even months of programming.
Still interested, though... we've almost reached the limits of what a piggyback can do for the Lynx, power-wise... and I'm wondering if I can make this work there to control both my gasoline and LPG systems... and maybe even E85, at the same time.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

That's true... very few people have actually found success in the tweaking and tuning part. Thats why more time is really needed to master it... which is what we (my partner) have been doing for the past years.
The reason why I posted this here is to provide an extra avenue or channel to help tsikoteers out there... not really for a replacement of their original OEM ECU's... but as a replacement. ... a better replacement.
Ikanga ng mga matatandang mekaniko ng shipyard... gawa lang ng tao yan... kaya din natin yan.
Average installation time will be about 3 to 6 hours... the old OBD port will be removed and to be replaced by the more low cost local sockets.
there's this youtube article, about a 2000s altis, that had a high rpm on cold start (2000+ daw),...
