Did I say 100%? ... I said "key components".
READ my previous post again carefully.
Why are you including export earnings? But while we are on that topic, all the Filipino is good for it seems is to provide labor in some form or another. Cars we just assemble them from complete parts shipped from abroad. Otherwise, we send the people as OFWs straight to foreign countries to earn us dollars.
Should we be proud of them? Yes and No.
Yes, because the OFWs have sacrificed a lot.
No, because it is a shame for a country who cannot properly employ it's own citizens within it's own borders.

Honestly, there is nothing much to be proud about an over-hyped road-legal electric extended-chassis golf-cart. They didn't even bother making it wider in the passenger area so that people in the back don't have to cross legs. Obviously it's because of the golf-cart axle and suspension sourced directly from China. Making the vehicle wider for better comfort would require making the vehicle's track wider and also requiring a wider axle which wasn't available for golf-cart spec parts. They didn't also make it taller so people will not hit their heads against the low unpadded roof. Not bad for a prototype but crude at best if considered as a final product.

re: 100%
yup, i know u did not mention that. but you are bringing up that the components have to be sourced locally to qualify as a filipino product. requirement ba yan para mag-export?
re: ofw
i am an ofw. i agree with you on this one. pero you should not be the one discussing this. imo, as you only highlight problems and never offer any solution to any of it, you dont help. you make it even worse by shooting down positivity. you're making it look like there is no hope in this country. pero ayaw mo naman umalis. wag ka na sumali sa topic na yan.
re: earnings
the mvdp is about trade. kaya we're discussing about exports.
re: golf carts
question muna. Q:have you tried riding the golf cart? ano ba height and weight mo? di ka ba nagkasya? bakit yan ang complaint mo sa thread about trade legislation? can you come up with another design of the "golf cart" that can be produced with the same cost? why would you want to solve the petty issues first in place of the cost issue which is more important at this point in time?

Want me to shut up? Make me.
Did I hit a sensitive nerve?
Although I am living and working in the Philippines, I do have close friends working abroad so I am not ignorant of the issues. But ignoring it and covering it up with fake positivity and false hopes won't solve the underlying problems either.
