radiator flushing - eto yung ide-drain mo yung coolant several times until maging malinis na yung lama ng system. the only thing na kakalasin mo lang is yung cap, drain plug and air relief plugs.
overhaul - babaklasin yung radiator mo to clean the fins para matanggal ang bara.
sa overhaul they just remove the top and bottom to clean the tubes. alis lahat ng bara at kalawang.
First drain the old coolant from radiator filled up w/ fresh water start the engine turn your heater (high) to circulate the old coolant from your heater back to your radiator. Turn off engine, drain radiator filled up again w/ fresh water. Same procedure. After all the cleaning filled radiator w/ fresh coolant and distilled water. Check level.
Radiator overhaul is to remove the radiator from the car, soaked to acid cleaning solution to remove all the rush, paint into your radiator then blow with air pressure at the same time they tested also with leak. If no problem, they repaint your radiator.Once it finished your radiator looks brand new again.
^^^ Nasagot na ni v6dreamer yung sa flushing. In addition, they normally use a radiator flush (Whiz, Abro or Prestone) to efficiently remove particles inside your radiator.
Re: radiator overhaul, in the local setting, tatanungin ka muna kung top or bottom overhaul. Kung top, yung upper part yung tatanggalin, lilinisin ng acid (basically stripping away the paint), tapos dudutdutin yung mga holes with a flat metal rod (converted oil dipstick yun) to declog it. Kung general overhaul, both upper and lower parts are removed. More or less, 1.5 hours ang proseso.
Bihira silang mag-pintura ng radiator dito pag overhaul. Don't know about the larger ones though.
a ok. so flushing nga ang ginawa sakin hindi overhaul kasi di nman nila tinanggal yung radiator ko eh.. anyway, thanks sa mga nag-reply!![]()
Nagoyo ka nyan pag ang binayaran mo is price for overhaul pero flushing lang ang ginawa.
Magkano ba singil nila?
Oh man, naloko ka nga! With that price it is definitely an overhaul.
If you have only flushing then you would only pay for the coolant that'll be replaced on your radiator + tip sa gagawa, that may only cost around half of that depende pa sa coolant yan.
Since newbie ka sa cars, may i suggest you enroll sa basic car maintenance ng MFI. http://www.mfi.org.ph/ You wil learn a lot. Also keep on reading this forum.
As for trustworthy shops, mahirap talagang makahanap. There is a thread here about reccomended shops. Check it out. Speedyfix is also highly reccomended.
tuwing kailan ba dapat magradiator flush at radiator overhaul? flush once a year? overhaul once every 5 years?
Radiator Overhaul tinatangal yung radiator from the engine bay, top and bottom covers are removed... using a cleaning stick each tube will be cleaned manually together with running water... assuming na copper type yung radiator but if plastic / aluminum pagka alam ko eh hindi pwede i-overhaul flushing lang
Radiator flush is using chemicals to flush out dirt and other unwanted formations inside your cooling system the chemical is poured in the radiator then run the engine for a few minutes then will be drained, then change new water preferably DISTILLED WATER.. some shops now have "Radiator Cleaning Machines" the hose is connected in between the radiator and the engine where the chemical will be re-circulated by the machine... that could be the reason why there is no need for turning on the engine during the cleaning process..
