    guys,

i had mine flushed over the weekend (DIY lang), following the step-by-step procedures you all suggested! But i have this problem now: it appears na meron ng tagas yung cooling system ko as evidenced by a pool of water sa ilalim ng radiator while parked overnight, so nagdagdag ako ng distilled water, nakaubos yung radiator lang (did not touched the reserve tank) ng half a bottle of the 750ml plastic bottle. Sinalat ko yung radiator plug, medyo basa nga pero mahigpit naman yung lock, but the strange thing is while on my way to the office, i stopped and checked the radiator plug once more.... TUYO naman sya...

Please help naman! baka ma i save pa radiator ko from overhaul! tsaka yung wallet ko!

    Sir gab0105,

Try having your auxillary fan checked at baka po mahina na ikot. Mostly dito po ang source ng problems. If ok naman then the culprit may be:

    1. Thermostat
    2. Water pump
    3. Baradong Cooling fins ng radiator
    4. Kung nababawasan ang coolant then baka may leak sa hoses or a defective radiator cap.

Have your cooling system checked by a mechanic so your problem could be solved. Goodluck.

    Sir crossback,

Try checking daily kung nagdadagdag kayo palagi ng water/coolant.

If Yes, then may tagas nga po iyon. Since ok naman drain plug ninyo then the culprit may be one of your radiator hoses. Use a flashlight to check the hoses individually. Since most coolants are colored green, pag nagkakulay ang isang hose ay most probably dito ang source. You may also inspect it while the engine is running. Malakas ang sirit ng coolant sa leak site since the coolant is circulating and under pressure. Check also your radiator cap at baka may singaw na din as coolant could esacape throuh this route.

If No, then most probably the pool of water you described may hav come from the condensed water from your A/C. Normal lang ito. ;)

Have your cooling system checked by a mechanic just to be sure. Goodluck.

    thx sir roydok,

daily nga po ako naglalagay, mga 1/4 to 1/2 of the 750ml distilled bottle every morning. tapos napansin ko pong laging may trace ng coolant sa opening ng coolant reserve tank, pati surroundings nung reserve tank may trace of coolant din, nababawasan din yung laman ng reserve tank!

all other areas are clear! radiator cap kaya?

Its a machine that is connected between the return hoses from your engine to the radiator. The machine is turned on and then a powerful turbulent stream flow is produced and recirculated throughout the whole cooling system. This is done for about 30 minutes. Your engine remains off. Tanggal talaga lahat ng rust and debris! I believe Mancor Caltex service station along E. Rodriguez has this machine.
i have tried and tested lavramon, tangal talaga lahat ng dumi... kaya lang wala na yung mga lavramon dito sa amin sa probinsya, saan pa ba meron nito besides mancor caltex?

    Sir crossback,

Pwede pong sa radiator cap or sa hose connecting your reservoir to your radiator cap inlet. Maganda pong ma-check ng inyong suking mechanic just to be sure. Goodluck.

what's the best available coolant in the market?

I agree with Sir Otep. I think the best coolant available is the Caltex Extended Life Coolant since based from it's label ay di mo kailangang palitan ng up to 5 years or 200,000 kms. It means maintenance savings. Pero twice ang price niya compared to the regular coolants. I had it placed in my Strada.

    Sir Scanner,

Drain the coolant from your radiator as I described and fill it with the recommended 50:50 coolant:water ratio of your desired coolant. Maganda na din po ang Petron Coolant. You don't need to change it right now kung wala naman pong problema. I suggest you do it at your manufacturer's recommended schedule wich is usually 40k or 2 years. Goodluck.
