in my opinion, radiator caps are not too hi-tech.. any brand of decent quality is ok.. i use whatever the guy at the parts store hands out.

mas maganda bumili ka sa surplusan ..kasi ung nabibiling tig 150 pesos..madaling maluto ung goma..base sa aking experience...result..kaunting init ng radiator,,pumupunta na dun sa reservor ung tubig sa radiator...

naghanap ako ng orig na surplus,,,ayun naging normal ung tubig ng radiator ko...hindi na nagbabawas,,,
nakuha ko lang ng 250 pesos...

sa surplus lang nakuntento radiator ko..

if buyer knows how to examine surplus radiator caps for defects, then i suppose it's ok to get them. otherwise, brand new is "safer".

Go OEM or at least with an OEM manufacturer (i.e. Denso).

I've tried those Circuit brands before (no choice as the cap gave way and that's the only one i could get on the road) and it did not last too long. Radiator caps should also be changed every three years or so as the gasket and pressure rating deteriorates over time.

The radiator caps that are available here either come from Taiwan or China.

Am more inclined for the Taiwanese-made ones, given their generally more evolved quality systems.

The function of the reservoir are 2 fold. First it is to store surplus coolant to last the duration between maintenance cycles. And second it is a surge tank that holds coolant that has overflowed from the radiator under high pressure conditions.

When pressure normalizes, assuming it is a sealed system, the coolant will return back into the radiator.

But if you are revving your engine and you have the cap off, and the radiator is boiling or gushing out from the filler neck, then you may have cylinder head issues that you may want to check up on especially if you're overheating.

that's strange...
are you overheating, hence the early deformation?
but i'd like to know where we can get good quality caps with good quality silicon gasket..
