    if the gauge has no numbers on it, midway would be a good reading. but in heavy traffic on a hot day, slightly more than halfway is still ok. and i would start looking at the needle more, if it starts creeping to 3/4 of the way..
    my 83 centavos' worth..

    It did not move a bit, maybe because you removed the thermostat...

    the thermostat causes faster temp rise in the engine block. you can usually see the needle move after only 2 km.. but if the thermostat is removed, it would take considerably more time for the needle to start moving , mebbe 2 to 3 times longer.
    btw, check the connections... baka hindi kunektado..
