Erratic idling when aircon is turned on.

Hi All,

Need your advise on my Corolla 95. Recently, pag naka-off ang aircon ang idle niya is around 800rpm. But pag naka-on ang aircon, tataas ito ng mga 1K rpm. After mga 30sec babalik uli sya ng 800rpm. The after mga 20sec tataas uli sya ng 1K rpm. Paulit-ulit lang ito nangyayari. Ano kaya ang cause nito? Kelangan na ba palinis at recharge ng freon? Ano mangyayari pag tumagal pa ito?

have a mechanic check the engine's "idle-up". it might be faulty or dirty.

how is the aircon performance naman, consistent ba ang lamig or not?
it will go up pagtakbo ng compressor & down pag off ng compressor.
so you can also check your temp setting. set it to full or highest temp.
pag it still ur rpm goes up & down at the same rate, then in addition to GH
mentioned, u can check also thermostat and/or thermocouple.

Apology forgot to mention. Mahina na rin aircon ko parang low na sa freon. May tendency ba mag-off ba yung compressor pag mababa na yung freon? Pano malalaman pag mababa na yung freon? I am planning to have it cleaned and recharged this weekend. Matagal na rin hindi napalinis air-con ko.

Pwede rin ba ito sa ae92 4af engine? same problem din ang nangyayari sakin eh. up and down ang rpm when AC turned on. actually kakapalit ko lang ng compressor, anyone na naka experience ng same problem na naresolve na? thanks.

pag on and off daw ang compressor, kulang daw sa freon.

have a look at the alternator as well.... i had the same issue before... buti na lang di ko muna pinatemporary fix... on the same day, naging ok bigla.. baka natalsikan ng tubig or nabasa yung alternator..

Have the same problem with my car. When AC is off the rpm is stable at 800 rpm. The moment AC is turned on the rpm goes up to 800 then down to 400 then up again and down continuously. Happens when idling though and when braking to stop. Could it be the idle control valve? Can it be cleaned DIY?

crazy car. cleaned the throttle body of my car last sunday. There was too much gunk, tar like black substance i removed using carb cleaner. Was not able to clean the IACV though. Now the car's rpm does not go down below 800 rpm when Ac is on, but rpm now goes up to 1200 then down then up when AC is off! whew! When car is turned on, idle goes up to 1500 for a 3 seconds then lowers to 1000. Baseline idle seems changed to higher setting. What could be the problem? Did i miss something?

Looks like your Idle Air Controller Valve is going south bro. Try mo palinis baka sakaling madala bro.

Sir same problem po, pasumpong sumpong lang naman po sakin! Pag nag on na compressor, sobrang taas RPM, pero pag namatay na compressor slowly going down na, umaabot sakin til 2000 RPM. Napansin ko lang din po ito pag nag stop ako. Brandnew kabit naman po evaporator and condeser ko last january. Ano po kaya possible problem? thans
