dual a/c doesent mean 2 compressors.... 2 evaporators and 2 condensers lang!
locally, dapat buhay sa likos pag buhay a/c mo sa harap, to prevent evaporator freeze-up.
pero katulad nung sa liteace ko, dual a/c+cold/hot box w/ice maker, at may mag solenoid valves on the systems, ok lang kahit anu buksan, kahit patay yung iba...
pero eto ang general rule dya->regardless kung alin fan buksan mo, parehong matakaw yan sa fuel than walang a/c.. maslalo kung sa mainit na tanghali..
ang role lang ng thermostat is papatayin nya yung compressor kung naatained na yung preset coldness.. most local dual a/c system 1 lang ang talagang thermostat nyan, mostly sa front. pero dapat kung buhay ang a/co sa harap, dapat buhayin mo ang fan sa likod para nga di mag-freeze up ang evaporator..

always on the a/c at the back kahit mag-isa ka lang. di raw maganda na wlang dumadaang hangin sa cooling coil while naka on ang AC. hth

on a dual a/c system, most if not all brands are equipped with a solenoid valve that shut-off the refrigerant flow on the rear evaporator/cooling coil if you dont like to use it... it doesnt mean that if the a/c is on, the flow on the rear is continuous.... no, if rear is switch off, solenoid valve is shut... thus, no flow....
if solenoid valve is removed, that's another story.....

kung kulang din sa freon yung vehicle, mas malakas din ang gas consumption...

Difference is negligeable. Load is more on the alternator, pero like I've said negligeable yun dagdag na consumption.

pag nag froze yung likod, e di kung bubuhayin di agad magkakahangin sa likod. or kung di mo talaga binuhay, ung ice formed sa a/c evaporator matutunaw magiging water--water is a breeding ground of bacteria.
kaya dapat bago mo patayin a/c system mo, dapat push mo muna yung compressor switch to turn it off, then just let the fan thaw the evaporator para di magkaroon ng stagnant water sa evaporator...kaya minsan may amoy pag binuksan mo ang a/c,e...lalo na kung barado ang drain...
