mga sir,, may problema ako.. kada every end of the month, yun Coolant nauubos.. this is not normal. I have 2 rav4s.. yun isa binili sa casa bnew.. then yun isa 2nd hand binili ko.. same model but different lang kulay. yun 2nd hand rav ko may leak sa tingin ko kasi nauubos agad coolant nito within a month! yun isa kong rav, 1 year na hindi pa nauubos coolant kahit todo aircon nito.

patulong naman po mga sir... ano ito bibili ako bago radiator kasi nakaka-370 a month din yun coolant na binibili ko sa Caltex.. ano ba solusyon dito? nanggaling yun tumutulo sa radiator.. tapos at the end of the day, bawas na coolant level ko from full na halos paubos na..,,

    salamat..

    Hmmmmm! No leak.

Check oil for coolant would be foamy inside of oil filter if its there you have leaking head gasket. Could have been a bad heater core or hoses dahil mahirap makita yan kung minsan. Check the lines from motor to fire wall and if you can see stain of water. wet carpet or look under car if coolant are presence then trace the problem. Also check yong mga connection ng hoses sa radiator, top of radiator along spout, if can see any presence of coolant baka may leak na maliit since you have said na nawawala in about a month.

Heres some hence, put a cardboard box under your engine after you park your car. overnight. Kapag may tulo tiyak na makikita mo sa kahon kung saan nangagaling ang leak.

Did I understand you correctly that you already found the radiator leak? If yes then you can have it repaired at radiator shops. Or if you have the funds, just replace it with an Evercool radiator.

If you cant find the leak, start by checking your radiator hoses. If your hoses are ok and no visible leaks under the car, replace your radiator cap.

Check water pump water drops sa cardboard. Remember, w.pump will only leak when its not in use.
Another way is put a water hose sa radiator openning and then pressurize the system, look for leaks on the hoses, clamps, gaskets.

Kung medyo newbie ka pa, just bring it to a radiator repair shop, and let them worry about finding the leak. But if you want to go the DIY route, observe the engine bay while the car's engine is running. Have someone rev the engine, kasi usually sisirit yung tubig kung may leak. Check mo rin yung hood mo kung may water marks. Dried coolant will leave a tell-tale mark. Usual suspects naman are hoses (main and bypass) and a leaky water pump.

Mura lang ang top overhaul ng radiator, mga P450-500. Rad shops naman will tell you if its no longer repairable, and will advise you na lang to buy a brand new one.

Replace your radiator na lang. In the meantime, just use plain water na lang since you already have a leak - sayang lang ang coolant.

I think Speedyfix & Speedlab carries Evercool radiators.

The OEM radiator assembly for the Rav4 (Gen II) costs around P38K. :shocked2:

pula? green ang coolant eh... baka may kalawang na kasama. if this is the case, talagang kailangang palit ka na ng radiator.

AFAIK, yung Toyota Extended Life Coolant, pula yung kulay ng coolant, so there may be brands na kulay red na rin. But I like the traditional neon green though. Parang radioactive kasi ang dating, hehehe
