i have a 1995 nissan safari patrol. it overheats or its temperature goes up when going uphill (say going up baguio) or at high speeds (120kph at the NLEX).
i have its radiator overhauled twice already and installed two (2) auxiliary fans but the problem persists.
your advise will be greatly appreciated.

If its old na baka kailangan overhaul. our kia truck had the same problem. when you put load on it it overheats. if there is no load it wont.

    here are some solutions.
clean radiator baka may putik sa fins

are the radiator hoses collapsing/soft? If so it restricts flow.

barado ba ang thermostat valve or does it work if at all?

aux fan is it working at high speed or w/ load? Was it installed the other way around?

replace radiator to 3 or 4 rows

    Tighten cyl head bolts.

top overhaul baka nababarahan ang mga daanan ng tubig since warped ang gasket.

complete engine overhaul or replace engine with surplus since it may be cheaper, then again your not sure of engine.

What i did was sell the truck after overhaul problema talaga ng kia ceres 4x4 ang overheat.

pag walang leak, temporarily remove the thermostat para iwas damage, at least medyo di ka mag isip na mag tuluyan cylinder head mo.

    usualy causes ng Overheat.

    1.water pump
    2. Thermostat.
    3 leaking radiator.
4 walang tubig yung radiator, ngok ngok ngok
    5. Blocked water jackets sa cylinder block.
    6. Baradong Radiator
    7. Blown Cylinder head gasket, tagas

Did you change your water pump yet?

Also, have your radiator 'descaled'. This is like cleaning the radiator using a special machine. Sa Dallas Caltex in Tomas Morato they do this.

Don't forget to add coolant too.

Thanks to all of you. I will surely take into consideration all of your advices. May I know any shop that specializes on overheating or problem of this nature?

Yung MB100 namin nag-overheat. Mali kasi ang kabit ng clutch. Kaya nung umakyat ng Baguio, na-over-rev.

Leche talaga yang BW shop sa Banawe. Feeling magaling gumawa ng sasakyan. Overcharging pa.

am also having overheating problem with my Civic 96 VTI. Once I notice na umiinit na ang engine (greater that 1/2), what i usually does is just to rev my engine at medyo bababa na naman ang temperature. I have also checked the radiator water level yet 1 to 2 glass of water lang puno na uli and the temperature stabilizes na naman for quite sometime. What do you think is the problem? have my radiator already overhauled recently yet ganoon pa rin. thanks

Oversized radiators can do the trick. Get some of those 4 row radiators.

If you've already checked your radiator and fans and both are working well, go and look at your thermostat (baka stuck nga so when the engine is running hard, coolant flow isnt optimal anymore), and the water pump. I'd suggest against using the car too much kung umiinit as you might end up with a cracked engine block (a bigger pain in the *ss).

Is it possible to remove the thermostat permanently, if so what are the side effect?

    Fastcar,

If revving lowers temperature, that sounds like a water pump about to seize. Mataas na ang resistance so you have to rev to make it pump more. There are other sources of resistance din naman like a clogged radiator.

    jtdc,
Tapat ng MCR near Intense Audio ito.

    larry,
Never take out the thermostat. Always replace with OEM or a correct substitute. You will just be opening a can of worms if you eliminate it.

On fluid flow inside the radiator. On idle, should the fluid be flowing noticeably or it is only during elevated revs say 1500rpm (on an Astron 1600)?
