A/C blows hot and occasional godawful stink

my A/C has been acting up for a while. this is the general failure mode: it won't cool (i don't hear the compressor clutch engaging) and it blows warm or slightly hot air, even if only on "fan" and the temperature controller is set on the coldest setting.

also, occasionally on startup it will blow this godawful stink which clears up after a minute or two.

but other times (generally on cloudy days or at night when i don't need the damn A/C) it works perfectly and freezes my balls off.

i know, i know, i should pay mang mario a visit already. just haven't had the time.

your aux fan is probably busted

bro maaring sira na yun aux fan mo or yun clutch ng compressor or baka yun compressor mo mahina na rin bumomba. yun amoy, baka may leak na expansion valve nyan. amoy langis ba or amoy freon?
