This is a major consideration other than the compressor's replacement cost. In my case, I thought only the compressor would be replaced when I opted for another brand. Little did I know that modifications on the fittings and compressor bracket would be made. Let's say the fabrication is less than ideal and it cost me problems (still does up to now). Had I known that, I would have replaced my old compressor with the same one that came with the car.

In short, choose the same brand and model that is currently attached to your engine. Saves you a lot of trouble and time. May hurt you upfront with the cost, but the savings in time and trouble is well worth it.
