I don't realy know, if compatibility is also a requirement in replacing aircon compressor.

Whats the stock compresor of Mazda ba? Well for me, better to stick with an OEM compressor (not saying na bumili ka sa casa).. an aircon specialist told me that if you'll variate an OE compressor, it might be possible for some vehicles or yours, that their tubings might won't fit from a different compressor. Though it's possible, but you'll compromise w/ an additional expense to change those thingys (tubings etc.).

My compressor is deteriorating too, so in the future i'm opting to change from OE Sanden to Denso (surplus only).. kaso yun nga lang sabe saken na baka o hindi talaga magkatugma kung ibang brand, atsaka dagdag gastos pa sa ibang parts na papalitan. So di bale na lang siguro.. hehe...just my 5 cents. :D

Check the OEM brand first. That'll make it easier.

For compressors which I am free to choose the brand (e.g. converting the MB a/c or fitting a/c to a/c-less car), SANDEN is usually what we use. They're cheap and very much available. Good serviceability, too.

This is a major consideration other than the compressor's replacement cost. In my case, I thought only the compressor would be replaced when I opted for another brand. Little did I know that modifications on the fittings and compressor bracket would be made. Let's say the fabrication is less than ideal and it cost me problems (still does up to now). Had I known that, I would have replaced my old compressor with the same one that came with the car.

In short, choose the same brand and model that is currently attached to your engine. Saves you a lot of trouble and time. May hurt you upfront with the cost, but the savings in time and trouble is well worth it.

Use OEM compressor. Less problems in the long run.

First to hear a panasonic aircon.. I strongly suggest when replacing stock compressor it should be the same brand.. while replacing to other brand and if your condenser and evaporator is still good dont replace it. If it is Sanden go for Sanden.
