I had my car aircon serviced in Valenzuela. I went all the way there even if I am from QC. Banawe simply is not an option. Aircon technicians there are not experts and are going to experiment with your aircon system and do shortcuts to earn quick and make sure you come back often to fix the aircon again.
Anyway, I came across an ad over the Internet and I did visit PFE Aircon (Power Friends Enterprises) along Km. 15 MacArthur Highway in Malanday, Valenzuela. It was a long way but it was worth it. 14 years of functional air conditioning I'd say is maximized. The compressor is out of commission and needs to be replaced. PFE does not recommend using Sanden and putting a frame because the frame will eventually come loose over the years and may cause damage to the engine and/or compressor.
I eventually agreed to install the original compressor, Panasonic. There was also a hose underneath the aircon technician replaced. The compressor is 9.5k and the hose replaced is 550. General cleaning is 500. O-rings and other minor parts cost another 1,050. Total cost 11.6k. No leaks found. And the aircon is now working and really cold. The money spent is well-worth it.
They don't do anything else but aircon and specialize in it. By the way, the hose they replaced suddenly quieted the engine a lot.
I'll recommend this shop to anyone. Several customers came by. Other car aircon shops did not have as much customers. Best to be there by 9 am or earlier.
