My aircon rotary thermostat switch was putulized (naputol) along the copper wire tubing. So what I did was ginawa ko munang rekta ang aircon (meaning walang control for switching it on and off and letting the fan do its thing without the aircon running. What control I have right now is the on and off switch ng aircon na lang. I already had it estimated dala cleaning and everything, pero the catch is that I will have money next week pa. So bottom line is:

    1. Masisira ba ang aircon compressor dahil hindi na siya modulated due to prolonged usage?
    2. Aside from the icing na mangyayari kung hindi ko mapatay ang aircon ano pa ang ibang posibleng mangyayari?

Any help you could give me would be highly appreciated.

sagad ba naputol yung copper wire sensor? kung hindi naman sasagap pa rin yan basta nakatapat maige sa evap para mag auto, now kung ayaw na mag automatic off yung compressor isa na lang way mo bro. turn off the a/c switch for say a minute then turn it on for a few minutes. manual in other words till mapalitan ang naputol

Yup, thats what I have been doing these past 2 days. Can't live without the car aircon sa tindi ng init kasi ngayon. Worry ko na lang is this weekend kung mamamasyal kaming buong pamilya. Maliit pa kasi ang anak ko. Putol talaga bro xto ang rotary switch (kasalanan ng casa kasi kung bakit nagkaganito ang oto ko, but its a different story - nasa archive na ata natin).

^^^ yep bro pansamatala lang naman. hindi naman masisira ang compressor kahit continuous mo gamitin say for an hour or so... till next week. unlike yung mga public utility talagang sagad maghapon. kawawa talaga

Just had my aircon repaired last friday, breakdown of expenses incurred are as follows:

    Fuse holder with fuse - - - - - - ----------------------------------- P 170.00
    Auto relay - original 280.00
    thermostat 480.00
    shaft seal 950.00
machine shop (pully and plate) 350.00
    overhauling oil 200.00
    charging valve - 134a 190.00
    aluminum welding 150.00
    Small O-ring gasket 84.00
    Vacuum actuator 1,100.00
General cleaning with full freon charge 1,800.00
    Fuse holder with fuse 170.00
    Auto relay 280.00
    ----------
    Total 5,750.00

Now may aircon works fine (even the idling has been restored), power steering is lighter (di na mabigat tulad ng dati). Will observe pa, meron namang 3 months warranty ang shop. The shop by the way is R & L Aircon here in Iloilo City.

Pricey ng kaunti pero meron namang peace of mind IMO.
