pwede mo lagyan ng air yung AC system up to 250psi using compressor motor ng refrigerator attach to manifold gauge, then monitor mo yung pressure nya kung baba. pag bumaba ibig sabihin may leak yon.
pag ok ang A/C system mo ang pressure sa high side is about 200-250psi. gawin mong reference yung high side wag yung low side.
pag low refrigerant ang A/C ang common sign ay mag ON ang clutch ng compressor for a while then mag oOFF and up and down din ang iddling, sabay sa on off ng compressor.

Thanks sa input sir smirky. I went back to the shop and pinatingnan ko ulit kasi under warranty pa naman trabaho nila kasi 1 mo. pa lang. Ang ginawa lang is kinargahan ng freon, tapos hinanap nila ulit kung may leak and mukhang wala naman daw (immediately) visible na leak. Nilagyan lang nila ng takip (the small green cap) yung isang valve where you put in the guages. Then sinabi nung may ari ng shop na observe ko daw ulit, then pag uminit daw ulit papalitan yung isang rubber hose.. di daw kasi madali makita pag dun galing ang leak.. Well I dont think that's efficient on their part.. parang di ko yata matanggap na di nila makikita yung leak kung dun lang sa hose.. anyway pag uminit ulit hindi ko na siguro dun ibabalik.. sobra na siguro yung 4 times ko pa ibalik dun kung leak lang e di pa makita..

July 17th, 2008 11:08 AM #13hanap ka ng may electronic leak detector na shop, kung evaporator 'yan mahirap talaga hanapin.kailangan pa nilang baklasin ,time consuming . dito sa shop ko (CANADA) fully equipped ako niyan it usually takes me 10- 15 minutes to complete a leak testing , dual or single A/C SYSTEMS. no guesswork tapos follow-up ng spray of soap and water sa suspected area.
worst case scenario pag hindi present ang leak at the time of testing , i first
evacuate the system and put some oil with dye and the right amount of refrigerant . the next time the car comes back with the same problem , with the use of a black light , the traces of oil will illuminate .that will aid the tech to narrow down if not to pinpoint the problem part. good luck next time.

*gerard, this happened to me...at first, i am just ignoring the hissing sound. but kaninang umaga, biglang init ng ac ko. buti na lang malapit ang ceejays dito sa house.
nakita nila wala ng freon, so definitely may leak. they tried locating the leak, pero walang makita physically. nung tinanggal yung cooling coil, andun ang butas.
palit tuloy ako cooling coil... lamig na ng oto ngayon.
