Aircon Blower

i just want to get your opinion peeps before i have this fixed.

a. last night while going home, my aircon is ok. malamig, may hangin. before entering coastal road, bigla akong may naramdamang tawag ng kalikasan so i have to go down sa caltex station dun, so it means, shutting of my aircon and engine.

b. after answering the call of nature, after starting the car, i opened the fan. AYAW BUMUKAS NG FAN. although when i turn on the compressor, nag-eengage sya.

c. reaching home, after turning off the engine, i ate dinner muna. afterwards, went out again to check the status of the fan. (yes, after turning on the engine). ayaw pa din.

d. this morning, i started the car muna while i wsa waiting for my wife to go out. after starting the car, turned on the fan again. wala pa din, but i did not turn it off maski wala. went back inside the house again to get something. when i went back into the car, ABA, GUMAGANA YUNG FAN.

e. everything was ok going to makati. sa parking, turned off the aircon and turned-off the engine. mga after 5 minutes, tried starting the fan again. ABA, WALA NA NAMAN.

ano kaya problem neto?

possible problems:

a. BLOWER. ano kaya ito? madumi lang or something? definitely hindi blower motor ito, dahil hindi sya magbubukas kaninang umaga. (sorry pareng joel sa pangugulo ko kagabi...)

b. ROTARY SWITCH?
c. DEFINITELY, hindi yan fuse, kasi kung fuse, hindi na sya tatakbo kaninang umaga. Definitely, hindi din compressor, kasi sobrang lamig ng aircon. kanina nga, gusto ko ngang patayin while cruising SLEX.

Ano pa kaya?

Car is a Mitsu Lancer Pizza 2k. Last aircon cleaning was 4 years ago. hehehehehe.

yep wla sa compressor kasi maginaw sya IMO
check your blower sir baka mahina na. (worst if palitan brush or whole motor assembly)
or baka lose contact lng sana

oo pre. katwiran ko kasi, if it ain't broke, dont fix it..... may mga previous experience kasi ako sa aircon na pag ginagalaw, lalong nagkakaloko loko eh.

on the question, the air blows volume is the same, hindi mahina and hindi malakas.

Looks like blower regulator to me.

Sounds like blower regulator/resistor block.

Mahal ang original niyan (thousands) so pacheck mo muna if yun talaga ang sira. Yung sa Benz ko converted na to use universal regulator. Pati dun sa Sentra na gamit ko minsan.

In my experience dati pina check ko yong fan kasi minsan gumagana sya at later one pag hit ko ng rough road bumabalik so pina check ko agad tapos culprit talaga ang motor manipis na daw ang carbon brush.

anyway its just a fan nman sir eh madali lng tanggalin IMO pwde mo patingin yan.

seems like carbon brush problem yan. ganyan din nangyayari sa civic namin ngayon. di ba pwede buksan ang fan at palitan ng carbon? kung di man, palit na talaga ng motor yan

Kung carbon, sobrang dali lang magpalit nyan. It's just secured by plastic screw caps.

Kung regulator, no comment, di ko lam yun eh (although obvious na nagreregulate sya ng kung ano, probably voltage. LOL)

ang mahirap siguro yung pagbaklas ng aircon. hehe

carbon brush or armature, pag bukas mo aircon tapos ayaw gumana blower try mo pokpokin yun blower motor pag umandar either c.brush or armature ang sira no contact

It's a part of the switch, but since it gets so hot (like most resistors), it also lives inside the blower housing.

AFAIK, mas mura pa lumalabas kung yung mismong blower (not the switch) ang sira.

an update on this.

blower motor ang talagang may sira.
last saturday, wala akong magawa, decided a DIY approach.
removed the fan (sa lancer, located yan sa likod ng glove compartment), nasa loob ng parang blower housing, fixed by screws.

after removing everything, tried running the fan outside the housing. ayun. ayaw tumakbo. parang stuck up yung motor. what i did is to temporary sprayed the moving parts with WD40, ang medyo tumakbo. yun nga lang maingay dahil parang may resistance. this is the same as yung ordinary electric fan na may resistance sa propeler kaya ayaw tumakbo kaagad once you switch it on. so definitely, baka carbon brushing problem.

tried sourcing out for parts dun sa may amin sa las pinas... one shop carried auto aircon parts (including compressors, evaporators, blowers, expansion valves, anything, as long as car aircon... in fact, nakakita pa nga ako ng mga vents for L300 eh....). pinakamalapit na blower is 2200.00 pesos. denso brand (which is also the same brand nung lancer). pag balik ko sa house, baliktad ang takbo ng fan, so that sobrang hina ng hangin. tried exchanging my stock fan dun sa bagong motor, pero mas malala... walang lumalabas na hangin....

just returned that part (buti na lang, ni-refund). sabi ko di pwede.... although, may mga na try pa akong ibang brand new blowers from the same store, pero hindi sya kasya sa blower housing so di makaikot maigi yung fan.

temporary solution: again cleaned the fan and the motor. kinabit ko ulit... although tumatakbo sya, medyo maingay and nakakaasiwa. will try to have the motor opened sa aking suking electrician next weekend. in the meantime, pagtitiisan ko muna yung ingay... malamig naman eh....

for information: eldorado and citimotors (nag canvass din ako dun nung saturday), carries the part. but for a very huge amount of 12800 pesos.

might be similar to my problem. when my aircon is in fresh air mode, walang hangin na lumalabas sa blower. pero pag recirculate, meron. same din kaya problem namin? halos hindi ko naman kasi ginagamit yung fresh air mode, pero siempre it might be a sign of a problem about to start.

Brod.pwede kabang magbigay ng instructions kasi may lancer itlog kami gusto kong check ang evaporator linisin kasi medyo mahina lamig pero napakalamig ng tube doon sa compressor pero sa loob kulang lamig ok naman blower malakas iniisip ko baka madumi evaporator. Sana bigyan mo kaming instructions paano tagalin ang evaporator.

Lancer Ba Yan??? Kasi yan ang common problems sa lancer upon time you have to clean the evaporator and cahgne the dryer of the aircon pero pag nalinis na yan malakas uli yan medyo mahal mga 2k-4500k ang repair kasi minsan marami kailangan palitan at depende kung kilala mu ung gumagawa. It helps to prevent this if you avoid using air fresheners and regularly vacum your car. Do not try to remove the evaporator sensitive yan pag nasira wala na if ever you have to replace it buy the aluminum type mas malamig

Brod.pwede kabang magbigay ng instructions kasi may lancer itlog kami gusto kong check ang evaporator linisin kasi medyo mahina lamig pero napakalamig ng tube doon sa compressor pero sa loob kulang lamig ok naman blower malakas iniisip ko baka madumi evaporator. Sana bigyan mo kaming instructions paano tagalin ang evaporator.

woohoo! sabi na nga ba eh.. motor yan kc on and off sya tapos pag may lubak un gagana na nman.. experienced ko dati yan sa corolla ko.. denso din syempre..

unforgetable ang sakin kasi 4,000+ sh*t ang brand new pag balik ko . ouch!
