So there's no need to turn it off manually from inside the car?

high rpm will only damage your compressor if it is very low on compressor oil AND if your expansion valve is clogged then say byebye to your ac comp.

That makes sense. But if the AC works perfectly, there should be no problem? Alright I'll report back to my dad

    Thanks for your insights!

    +1

di ko rin ganung sinasagad yung thermostat ng oto ko eh, naka low setting lang (para at least madaling madis-engage yung comp at di mababad pati), nilalakasan ko nalang yung blower to compensate it.

Regarding sa kakahataw while a/c is on, then kung maingay na comp mo, dun mo nalang bigyan ng strict measures (on revving hard) para di lumala yung ingay nun, or worst case, bumigay yung comp.

the valid reason why turning off the a/c during engaging the engine into a high rpm is to gain more power. a/c is coupled to engine via belt and a/c is considered an engine load when a/c is turned on. hindi masisira un, japanese engineers had foreseen this issue/concern long before we think and question ourselves if this is an issue..

di yan masisira provided na you maintain your a/c system. i have my a/c cleaned once a year, i asked the mechanic once, for the compressor daw may sinusunod sila na high and low pressure, on the high side wag lang daw sosobra ng 200psi and 20-30psi sa low side. nakakasira daw ng compressor is if you exceed 200psi on the high side, causes daw para magexceed is dirty lines and too much freon charging. oo nga pala, it disengages daw before reaching 200 provided the system is working properly so no need to worry

guys if this is true bakit yung sa gen2 crv ko dati nagpalit ako ng compressor 2 times in 4 years? yung 1st time sa casa then yung 2nd sa ibang shop sa banawe? all of them said na dahil daw due to excessive rpm? I find that hardly true kasi bihira naman ako mag hiway and hanggang 4k rpm pinakamataas na na reach ko. all of the compressors na pinalitan ko is orig pa (keihin ata tatak).sa bwisit ko binenta ko na yung sasakyan dahil Ive never experienced it on my other cars

minalas ka lang siguro at puro mahina na compressor napalitan sayo, gen1 crv ko with 105k on the clock orig compressor pa rin, granted di na tulad sa lamig ng bnew but still cold enough.

They might have been overcharging your car with freon. This causes very high pressure under high RPM.

Of course, they blame high RPM when you bring it back to them, pero culprit talaga is freon overcharging.

AC compressor + high rpm = damage?
