Yes, you will damage your compressor! Here is my compressor after a 200 kph run on Star Toll expressway last week. I over took a car and decided to keep going since the road was clear, then aircon died!
Estimated P28k from denso pasong tamo(new compressor, expansion valve, dryer, labor, oils r134a)
What engine speeds were you running when it blew? Was this your Evo 7?
Do all compressors on newer cars these days have the auto disengaging clutch when it reaches a high engine speed and/or when it reaches a low enough temperature? I don't have a problem running mine all day at 80-90mph because my engine can only go to 5k rpm hehe. The other car can go up to 6k but that's very seldom. My dad's SiR can reach the speeds I mentioned in the first page but he doesn't do it often, and he always shuts the AC off when he goes WOT (especially in tunnels/underpasses - fave niya yon hehehe, sabay bukas bintana)...
Yes, it was the evo
It was around 4k rpm, i remember going red line a few times before. Then when i decelerated, poof!
napapa-ayos ba ung compressor or tlagang palit na dapat.. when you say compressor ovrhol, wat does it mean..
usually if i make hataw lets say im gonna pass 4k rpm i turn off my ac switch common sense lang naman ac comp. are not designed for high rpm , even though you go 100kph or 140kph ok lang, it depends on the rpm para safe dont exceed 4k when ac is on![]()
