First make sure the car has coolant , then make sure the fan is running and most of it no leak. If all of those are ok, you must replace back the thermostat, and if all that doesnt work try bleeding your cooling system there maybe a trapped air.

    from sunday to tuesday
    -------------------------
    1. radiator overhaul
    2. thermostat was removed
    3. replaced one old hose clamp
    4. replaced radiator cap (may kaso ba kung ang nabili ko e 0.9 instead of what it used before which was 1.1)
    5. using new engine coolant
    6. replaced water pump

desptie of all of these measures, parang hindi pa din nasosolve ung problem(atleast im not satisfied)..usually ung temp gauge ko is a little below the half way mark..pero ngayon it rises to the halfway mark and sometimes goes even above it...when i was driving to work this morning, i stopped over at a gas station and had the gas boy fill the radiator with water because it was a little above the halfway mark(mejo paranoid na ko..hehe)..after that bumaba ung temp..pero just as i got to the office, there it goes again...

you guys have anymore suggestions on what might the problem be or what other options i can try out?

    thanks!!

muhkang hindi nga thermoswitch mga sir...pinarekta ko muna ung fan for the sake na maeliminate ung idea na ung fan ang nagcause nitong overheat...same result...nung saturday on my way to megamall mga 3pm biglang nagspike ung temp ko just as i was in the middle of j. vargas..buti na lang di naman gaanong traffic..just before making that trip i refilled the coolant sa isang gas station kaya nagtataka lang ako bakit nagka ganun...tingin nyo may tama na makina?

first thing you need to ask about over heating is, how much amount of coolant lost in the radiator? Kung halos naubos agad ang laman in a short span of time, chances are there's a leak in the line, from radiator out to radiator in, mostly will be in the hoses. pag patagal mag overheat or gradual ang increase in temp, small leak in the radiator system.

now kung hindi naman nabawasan yung coolant & ur temp is shooting up, the fans are not working so either fuse, the fan itself or thermoswitch. chekc also radiator condtion baka clogged na ang loob sa dami ng dumi.

now if all of the above is not the problem, then get the timing & tune-up done. still if not, then you can focus at the engine itself.

make sure you didn't damage the engine. if you did, kahit ano i band-aid mo won't work din.

update ko lang..pinapapalitan ko na today ung cylinder head gasket sa talyer..hopefully sana wala naman silang makitang tama sa cylinder head mismo..and hopefully this will put an end to the overheating problem..i'll update the thread again kung ano results..thanks sa lahat ng bigay ng kanilang mga suggestions and options!
