Do you guys opt for the original OEM parts or find cheaper alternatives? When you decide to use replacement parts, do you choose the quality trusted replacement brands or the non-branded China/Taiwan cheaper parts?

cheaper as long as hindi sobrang chipipay..there r good OEM alternatives for euro or jap cars. for critical parts such as belts, cooling parts etc. its safer to go OEM..

For some parts I go with replacement brands, when I replaced my front shocks I got KYB shocks that are up to OEM specs. Other parts like oil filters and brake pads I also use cheaper replacement brands, but I make sure the parts meet the requirements of my vehicle. For more important parts I would get OEM/Honda though.

    depende talaga.

kung critical yung part, then i go OEM. examples of these are the engine support and sensors. wala atang hindi OEM/casa na sensor unless you risk buying surplus from chop chop cars.

some non OEM parts are better. like for suspension, i went for Old Man Emu shocks and Super Pro bushings.

others like mufflers, rims, tires, spark plugs, wipers, weather strips, rain gutters, light bulbs, stereo/HU, speakers, air filters, air intake manifolds and the like are better kung outside sa Casa mo kukunin

ako depende, pag moving parts, i usually go orig. Mahirap na...

pag mga di kasing essential sa quality like bushing, eng support, belts, replacements na OEM specs will suffice.

pag kayang orig, then I go for orig.. but like some of what was mentioned above, I think I can opt for better aftermarket parts if possible.

i go for OEMs for critical parts like compressors, radiator fans, alternators and as such. pero i go for replacements dun sa mga non-criticals or semi-criticals such as oil filters, shock absorbers, etc.

I think you should consider changing a worn out part after you get into an accident because of the worn out part. Or was that you should do it before? ;)

I'd go with OEM or better.

    price wise

sa konting diprensiya, sa oem na. especially kung critical part like t belt etc. den pag oem usually sa casa para sigurado and pwede credit card. =)

pero kung me oem outside of casa na reliable naman ang seller, don na ko bili.

other than that , replacement will do pero dapat high quality din. wag naman yung sobra mura. siguro yung mga 1st-2nd class replacement ok pa.

OEM but not from the casa. Pre-used (hehe second hand) kung kilala ko yun previous owner so I'll know how long he/she has used it.

pag engine parts, i go for oem not from casa. pag suspensions 555 brand will do and i buy sa mismong suppliers sa manila, kahit mga oil seals and bearings I personally buy them para orig na and cheaper pa. If you're going to buy replacement parts tanung mo yung "mas japan" at sigurado may ilalabas pa syang iba. pag japan lang, yun ang japeyks!

for our ford lynx, we went to this repair shop in pasay (jojie's) and had the auxiliary motor and fan blade replaced with a surplus one from a toyota. exacto and size and they just refitted the original lynx frame. total cost: PHP1,200 lang

so far, its been 2 months and wala namang problema. na solve tuloy ang overheating sa lynx and erratic rpm during idling

    now, the car runs smoothly
