Careful when using rubbing compounds (and other abrasives.).

The end result may look good in daylight, but the windshield may be rendered unusable during nighttime - parang may excess glare due to the minute scratches due to the rubbing compounds.

If you really have to polish off the scratches, maybe BigBerts would be the most competent in this.
