Before you bring in your vehicle for installation, make sure you clean the mounting surface thoroughly. Some shops will just wipe it down. Kung painted surface I usually use rubbing compound and then some wax.

The device does have it's practical uses. But I wouldn't put one on my rig. Depending on the shape of your doors (mine are flat as a pancake), when you open a visor-equipped door against a wall, the visor can be the first part of the door to hit the wall (ouch).
