Hi! I bought my car (kia Carens) two years ago with free 3m tint. It is a clear tint (I think it is crystalline but I am not sure). At first it is ok with us but lately my wife and the kids always complained about the heat and the lack of privacy. Hence; last week I decided to add another layer of 3m BC magic tint on the present tint.

Will the additional layer of tint provide added protection in terms of UV and heat rejection?

sir please give feedback on the heat rejection of your double tint. was the installation of the 2nd tint smooth and without any bubbles?

Having double tint will definitely increase the heat and UV rejection. In fact it offers more safety if the window or glass were broken intentionally or accidentally.

Important factor to consider is: when you put a second layer tint, make sure your first layer (usually the old tint) should be a good brand/quality and still in top condition. No point installing a new tint over your "Talong" (purple) color tint or old tint with bubbles or defects.

Hey guys, buhayin ko muna itong thread.

Just like the TS, I had free tint from the Nissan dealership (Platinum Magic Tint, Very light shade), this was roughly 7 months ago, and now I would to change it for a darker shade.

Just want to know if it's ok to put another layer of Magic Tint on top of Magic Tint? Will it no be problematic in terms of reflections?

    of course added protection yan...

ako naka 3m super black, dalawang patong sides and rear. all i can say is, 100% UV protection! hindi tumatagos ang araw.

but i do not suggest this, hindi pwede sa malalabo ang mata. lighter shade na dalawang patong pwede pa.

Yun nalang bilhin mo.

Kapag low budget ka isang murang tint+ another murang tint = High end tint? I don't know. haha. Baka magpatong patong ung IR rejection.

You should always reconsider when you try to double tint. Double tint=compromised safety. One might think that its added security by not being seen, but drivers always forget that they're less safe at night because they cannot see well outside, thus, are likely to get into an accident.

Have double tint on my cars, except for the front windshield. It's sometimes challenging at night when you have to back up in a dark/not so well lit area, especially when it rains. If your eyesight is not too good, better go for black chrome tint, which will give you good heat rejection, and can also keep your interiors hidden, depending on the light coming from outside.

Guys a bit of a dummy question: I have magic tint wrapped around. If I add a layer of black shade tint (medium shade) to my existing magic tint, will it still have the magic/mirror effect on the outside?

    TIA!!

Sir I went through with it earlier today. Put Solargard Super Black on my existing Platinum Magic and wow it really is hard to see! But I only did the rear window and the rear side windows, on the outside naman it still holds it's magic/mirror effect on all windows which is what I wanted to achieve. I'm not sure if I'll further tint the front side doors.

Did this yesterday. Platinum magic yung lightest shade on top of existing Llumar med black. Also pretty good visibility at night. Night visibility is better than the el chepo casa 3M super black that i replaced with the Llumar.

double car tint.... added protection?
