September 25th, 2009 12:23 AM #2Thanks. I'm on a budget, if I get the VKool Clear 70 for the front, what would go well for the sides and back? What brand?
My priority is vision (I have poor eye sight), and heat rejection. For the fortuner.

what do you want on the sides & back? Clear tints as well or dark?
There is V-kool 40 which is light gray in color & Solar Guard light-neutral bluish in color. Both have the same effect as clear and with good heat rejection.
If you want darker tints for the side & back 3M, Vkool & Solar guard basically have the same heat rejection and price.
So V-kool-70 on windshield + Vkool 40 or Solar Guard = P13,500+ (roughly);
V-kool-70 on windshield + ordinary 3M (light or dark) = P10,000+ (roughly).
I am quoting you based on my inquiries for my Benz wagon which is roughly the same glass size as the Fortuner.
ps: dont go for V-kool 75 on windshield. There are complaints on problems with visibilty/blurring at night.
I hope this helps.

September 25th, 2009 07:41 AM #4Thanks busdriver. I prefer everything clear with a bluish colour so i'll go for the V-kool-70 on windshield + Solar Guard = P13,500+ (roughly) that you said.
Where did u get yours installed?
For comparisons sake, what about other brands like rike cool and 3M, are they not as good as VKool?

Sir the above "quotes" are the suggested stores that have V-kool tints.
Kindly call V-kool Philippines for their accredited installers: 5313173/ 5343167/ 5345921
I went to the Santolan V-kool in QC (near Ortigas). Look for Rose, 9112249 or 7255570.
For comparison vs V-Kool:
RIKE COOL: though relatively cheaper, there are lots of complaints for RIKE COOL CLEAR on windshield. Complaints like double vision at night when hit by light & blurring. You can settle for RIKE COOL for side & rear windows but not for the windshield. Performance based on technical data posted by Rike Coolis basically the same as V-kool.
3M CRYSTALLINE CLEAR: good reviews! Same performance as V-kool, same price as well. No metal content on the tint unlike V-kool 70 & 75, thus it doesn't block E-PASS or radio signals from GPS & cellphones or other RFID technology. The only thing with 3M Crystalline, its not widely available. So far only Winterpine Araneta Ave & LA Cars install it (AFAIK). Call first Winterpine or LA Cars if they have stocks. Most of the time they are out of stock.
Cheers!

October 16th, 2009 10:23 PM #7We had VKool installed in our new Subaru Forrester 2.5T. P30k for the whole car, including the windshield. Done at VKool Santolan. We rarely use the Forrester I cant provide any clear feedback yet. But if its good enough for the space shuttle, it must be good enough for our cars.
