The sophisticated Volvo S90 shines with its intrinsic style, conspicuous safety, and a limo-like back seat. It’s available with two four-cylinder engines: the 250-hp turbocharged T5 or the 316-hp turbocharged and supercharged T6. Both pair with a silky eight-speed automatic. The top-tier T8 features a 400-hp plug-in-hybrid powertrain. Every S90 has a semi-autonomous driving mode and automated emergency braking. A panoramic sunroof, navigation, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, too.

Volvo S90 is an excellent car.

But Philippine version doesnt come with standard panoramic sunroof nor hybrid, nor t5/t6. Local dealer/distributor is more into selling diesels. Hybrid is unattractive for a local buyer since the only charging point of the lifestyle buying this car would be your house. Malls, places you park dont have charging points.

Going back to the car, Back seat isn't Limo like. Dont have adjusted rear seats nor the tech that comes with S class or 7 series. S90 dont even have USB at the back seats. But the back seats got built in child booster seats as standard. Even the China built Extended version only got the leg space but no adjustable seats, no optional ref, no cooling/heating of your glass, etc. The closest Volvo made to a limo is probably the XC90 Excellence. most of the rear tech, luxury you expect from a limo are there at the back seats.

S90 Front seat is excellent though for adult and long drives especially if you go with massage, ventilated/heated seats.

Semi autonomous and AEB is excellent especially for heavy traffic like EDSA or highway driving. It is a more advanced version of adaptive cruise control wherein it does follow curves of the road as long as the car can see the car lanes of EDSA or any road.

AEB is great. Blindspot, cross traffic, etc Warning are all annoying especially in times and places wherein Motorcycle riders are suicidal and dont follow their lane. All these tech are intrusive but will save you from potential accidents.

Reliability is excellent for one year so far.
