Since you are buying used with a limited warranty, you have to insist to the dealer to replace whatever's possible as running costs for European cars can usually become expensive later on.

    Good luck!
I agree Ryan... they pointed that out to me. Thanks for the tip. What did you replace your s40 with by the way?

Hey SOFTOP, watch PETER HORBURY and the new LINCOLN MKS. Re-inventing LINCOLN's Design DNA.

Wow! This guy is really good! The MKRs' design reminds me of cars seen in retro comic bools. Pang kontra-bida, villain look. -in a good way.

I'm gonna name my new labrador Orberi and later on baptize its pups with names such as bipipti (v50), astun (aston), age (edge), jag, lingkon (lincoln) and imki-ar (MKR)... shorter learning curve for inday and dodong to pronounce the names properly.

Checked on my v50 this afternoon... good thing my SA decided to park it across their other bldg along Pasong Tamo. My v50's estimated time of delivery was pushed for another week due to the number of Volvo cars that were towed-in for service today. Too bad... all flood-related damages sigurado yan.

    2 more weeks...

    Hmm...if I remember correctly...

    1) busted glove box light - repaired under warranty
    2) busted horn - replaced under warranty
    3) broken rear door lock - replaced for around 4-5k pesos

I had the car for almost 5 years with less than 20k on the odometer before selling.

I finally got my V50 yesterday after almost a month of waiting.. so far so good. I'm gonna drive it to T.Highlands later. Viking's loaded with a lot of flood-damaged cars. Kawawa talaga mga owners not only because they're gonna spend a fortune (HUGE fortune) restoring their cars BUT also because they love their Volvo's to death. It was actually the first time I heard in person people say great things about this brand. They talked about their turbos, top speed, great handling, upgrade chips, cost of ownership, etc.. parang kulto na. It's strange but quite refreshing. Meron palang grupo na ganito and wow!!! I saw one xc90's running bill total at 1.7mils already... and growing.

Anyway, an SA offered to sell me some after-market products from HEICO SPORTIV... expensive but looks really cool!

    Check it out:

Yes bro, as promised... been too busy lately. I'm gonna bring my cam tomorrow and take some pics of my V50.
By the way, I found it really heavy and sluggish driving it yesterday. I was very disappointed because I thought hey, shouldn’t it be running faster considering that it has a 5 whistler under its hood compared to my e90’s smaller four? I really thought I should bring it back to the casa and have the mekanikos at Volvo take a look at it. Although I still managed to hit 180kph, it almost took me forever man.. naubusan na ‘ko ng kalsada.

BUT, just this afternoon, when I tried driving it tiptro ala sports car, it totally changed my views about this car. I enjoyed driving it more! It’s not just a push-over-momma’s-car pala after all. Brusko din ang damuho at 4000rpm and beyond. Yahooooooo! Not bad at all man... not bad. I just have to get used to its factory installed sounds system. AM-FM-CD all sound the same. Hayayay! It's like listening to Ted Failon's baduy but very entertaining voice in the morning.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GCT2zHKi_0"]FORD Focus RS with the 5 CYLINDER VOLVO Engine[/ame]

Softop, the Volvo 5-Cylinder engine in your V50 is a very robust and versatile engine. The very same powerplant is utilized in the Ford Focus RS.

    Power: 300HP Top Speed = 260KpH!!!

V50 is in the casa. Wow, good thing it's under warranty! Otherwise, I'd be forking over P200K (my own estimate) in compulsary repairs and maintenance. My V50 should come out really fresh and without headaches for the next 5 years or so (ehem). Every complain that I pointed out to them was like NOTHING guys! Wala na akong narinig kung 'di "YES Sir! Papalitan po natin yan. Under warranty po yan." I go: "Hmmm... pwede ba retouch nyo na din 'tong scratch sa bumper?" Yes sir, isasama na po natin yan.

    Hahaha! Ang dali nila kausap.

Talking about A-1 customer service guys... ang galing nila. The only downside I guess in having your volvo serviced in the casa is obviously the price. But for me, so far sulit because of the warranty.

I'm gonna post some pictures as soon as I get it back. Medyo luma na, yes, but it's still a certified head-turner guys. Ang cute kase ang liit nyang tingnan na wagon.

Haneps marg!!! I think it was the T5 engine that they used on the RS though.. pero kahit na, it still came from a v50. Plus pogi points yan definitely for us owners...

Thanks for sharing this video bud! That's what I like so much about this site. Daming info.

    Hi Win,
I hope the info that I sent you helps..
Yes, Heico parts are quite expensive mainly because there aren't too many third party shops selling volvo accesories and performance parts in the Phils.
