Just confirmed with VW BGC. The Jetta 1.6L TDI MT is available for all and for sale at 850k. It shares the same engine as the Jetta 1.6L TDI DSG. Limited stocks only, only white color remaining (black color has been sold out). For inquiries, please call Humprey Silang (09175230006). Units can be seen at VW BGC, free test drive offered.
It does not feel underpowerered. There's enough torque at low rpms (below 2k) and it can accelerate much like the other compacts on the market. We got it to speed at around 160 kmh and the chassis feels very stable.
Are the turbos for this model made by Garrett or KKK? Bolt on turbo upgrade kits for Garrett equipped units can up this 1.6 TDI's output to 175 Hp, 370 Nm smoke free. Probably cost under 100K more. Would make a neat little pocket rocket.
All fuels in the country are already Euro 4. It's not legal to sell Euro 2.

Based on most online references, this inline-4 turbo diesel shares similar construction with the bigger 2.0L TDI and are classified under the EA189 engine code which is the target of the investigation due to an emission cheat device. They have KKK turbochargers which is made by Borg Warner.
Wow these VWs are really great value right now.
But what gives? Has VW finally given up on the premium branding? Or are they closing shop and holding a garage sale?

Bluefin is an ECU remap kit for a stock setup. They sell different remap kits for various turbo cars. The Stage 1 remap kit for the Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost can increase its output to 154hp/247Nm. You need to confirm first the VIN number of the car with their customer service to get the right remap kit for your car.
When I test drove the Golf 1.4T last May, I was really impressed with its driving but disappointed with its SRP of 1.59M. It feels more powerful than its specs indicate and it offers a lot of grip. At its discounted price now, it is one great option compared to a Civic Turbo, Focus Ecoboost, or Mazda3 Skyactiv 2.0L.
Ayala usually put on sale cars that are slow moving on their inventory and when a new model is expected to be released. They do that with the Honda Accord. They don't announce it, mostly a delaer sale of sorts. When the 9th gen Accord came out, the 8th gen Accord were even offered at 450k discount. The same discounts were offered to the previous gen Pilot and Odyssey.
Yup.
IMHO, interesting contrasts in the way the four drive. The Civic has decent handling, but it's more comfort-tuned than the other three. The Mazda is the liveliest. If you want "classic" hot hatch handling, the Mazda3 hatch is the ticket. Mobile (but safe) rear end, and the new torque vectoring helps pull the nose in line.
The Focus feels a lot like the Mazda, but tuned stiffer. The end result is largely the same, though, because the Focus has a bit less grip and more weight.
The Golf, it feels powerful, yes, but I'd say not Civic-Focus league, and the Mazda might give it a run for its money... but it's pert, light and planted.
I would love to do a group test on the Tanayburgring of these four.
We got our CR-V before with big discounts.

The VW push now is helping to move slow inventory, and since Ayala is doing it as benefits or car plans for their people, it's a win-win situation for them.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
*Niky - Botchi Santos recently wrote an article in TGPH comparing the turbo compacts. Were you part of the team who tested the 3 turbo compacts? Which would you choose among the three?
