Hefty indeed, around 450k to 500k discount depending on the model. VW charges a premium for the Black Pearl color.

Totally a steal for its price. It's a great buy for less than 1M.

No SRP but if we'll base it from the available variants here, approximately around 1.3M. Such good price for 850k but almost or all units come in white only

VW-PH might be fielding the model until all LOI (pre-order) units were delivered to their respective owners (employees of Ayala-owned companies). The Trendline model (with 16" steel rims), same as above, is priced around 1.3M. The Highline model (with 17" rims) is priced around 1.4M. These models come with the small 1.6L CRDI engine (rated at 105hp * 4400 rpm, 250Nm * 1500 rpm). It comes with a 7-speed DSG (dual clutch) tranny.

These models are assembled in Mexico using parts from Germany. They were supposed to fill the requirement of VW vehicles for Turkey. Late last year, VW decided to pull them out of the Turkey market. They were offered to Ayala employees last January with interested employees signing an LOI to reserve a unit (Trendline or Highline)

The current Jetta models available to the public are the Jetta 1.4L DSG turbo gas (same engine as the Golf 1.4T) at just over 1.3M and the Jetta 2.0 TDI DSG at around 1.5M.

Tried to look for the highline model but unfortunately, no more allocation. difference are the LED Headlight and Tailights, beige interior, and 17" for highline.

Hopefully the DSG wont be problematic in the long run, this is my major concern.

Very economcal engine as well, left VW Quezon Ave exactly 530pm and reach SM Bicutan around 845pm because of the heavy traffic, MID was displaying 8km/l

Last January, we opted for a white color Highline trim as they told us it will come with a sunroof. When they got back to us saying no more sunroof for the models, we opted for the Black Pearl Highline trim but at a price of 950k.

The DSG tranny of VW has long been used in different models across the various VW and Audi lineup (including other cars within the VW family). Even Porsche uses its own version of the DSG with its PDK tranny. As with all dual clutch trannies, don't drive it like the usual AT tranny. You have to learn to time well your throttle input (like an MT car) to lessen its clanky nature in stop&go traffic. DCT or DSG performs well on the highway with its quick-shifting nature.

We used it for a couple of long trips already. It is very economical. It consumed around 500 pesos worth of Petron Turbo Diesel (17 liters) for a 300km trip (Paranaque-Pampanga round trip). It may not be as powerful as the 2.0L TDI model but it is no slouch on the highway.

matipid nga yung VW. drove the 2.0 Tdi Passat when we were in UK. was able to achieve 20.7km/l based on the MID for 300+ km run with average speed of 150kph

Parsng walang naman incentive to buy these cars. Parang mas safe pag mag foton toplander kahit diesel at least suv, Ang mahal siguro dito na tatagain ka eh suspension system sa vw. I mean, simple replacements like stab linka, brake pads, and rubber bushings to the tune of 2k++

It has good low end grunt at low rpms but it seems to lose oomph when pushed harder. The 2.0L TDI model offers more power and a bit quicker on a sprint. The 1.4L petrol turbo version is also quicker than this 1.6L TDI model. The platform is on the heavy side and already classified as a medium car by LTO. 105hp might be short considering its weight but the available torque makes it good enough for the streets. The car is mostly used by my in-laws who has a driver. The driver told me he got it to do 160 kmh in NLEX and not much faster though.

Ahh that explains it. Excellent deal nevertheless. Beats the hell out of a vios and a jazz for those specs and pricing.

If only VW PH upgraded their trim levels and kept the prices as is, I think more people would consider buying.

If the Jetta 1.6 MT TDi was offered at 850k back in 2015, I would've bought it over my Altis. The Jetta looks really classy in a subdued way. 18" rims and it's good to go. [emoji629]

That interior is excellent. Whats the curb weight and 0-100 times on this oil burner? Torque?

What's the difference between the 850k Jetta 1.6TDI and the 1.4M 2.0TDI besides the engine and transmission? 550k is a big difference so I was wondering how they can continue selling the 2.0TDI version at current prices. The 1.6TDI photos shown a few pages back looks like a real good value car compared to lets say an Altis or a Lancer.

The Jetta 2.0L TDI DSG has a bigger engine and it is the same 2.0L TDI engine used across the VW-Audi product line. It's more like you're buying a cheaper Audi with the engine and features. Please take note that the initial batch of Jetta 1.6L TDI DSG (Trendline at 850k and Highline at 950k) models were sold only to employees of Ayala-owned corporations as part of their employee corporate discount program. There are Jetta 1.6L TDI MT models being sold to the public at 850k and these are being targeted for fleet car operations (taxi, corporate car, etc.)
