Good to know. I was thinking maybe because VW’s reputation in the US was ruined because of dieselgate, they shifted their focus to asia.

But then seeing this thread 2013 pa pala.

if you backread the TDI forums sa States, VW is not allowed to sell TDI cars unless they revise the software to remove the emissions cheat.

Actually, kung US car ka, 2 step remediation - software + future engine hardware that is still to be installed.

Pero for PH case, even the cheater TDI engine was likely cleaner vs any existing Euro 2 diesel or earlier here. The cheat was to beat Euro 5 and 6 standards based on what I read. Pinas is just mandating Euro 4 on new cars.

I was asking VW Philippines about what engine they use in the PH market. Ayun dedma. If they are not using the same engine then what are they so afraid of.

If this is what they answered to me then i will rest my case.

Does anyone remember how much was discount of the last batch of VW Golf TSi a year or two ago? Was it 200T or 400T? When was it? 2016?

A relative from VW is offering a pre-owned 2015 Beetle 1.2 TSI manual, 500kms ODO for 950K. So technically, almost brand new but old.

You think it's a good buy?

I know this isn't a practical car. Just thinking to get it for posterity purposes

^^^ The 2016 Golf 1.4T would be something more practical in case you find one for sale.

I did see an ad in OLX for a 2017 Jetta 1.4T for 890k.

I wonder if they will launch the new touareg here. That i will definitely consider. Looks massive and high tech. Am not too fond of the Atlas though.

The Q7 is a beauty!! Just dont like the 3rd row area... too small and tight.

Are they gonna offer the Atlas here locally ba!?

Europeans love their SUVs with 2 rows only. It's the Americans who love big SUVs with 3 rows.

Believe it or not the Q7 is actually longer than the LC200.

The touareg is just fine for the value.

Back in 2016, VW-PH was offering the Touareg V6 TDI for 3.8M. I am not sure if they are still offering it at that price.
