Maybe Volkswagen-PH should think of bringing over the 2017 Euro-spec Passat 2.0T to the local market. It comes with a 2.0L turbo engine (276bhp/350Nm) paired with a 6-speed DCT which propels the car from 0-100kmh in 5.5 seconds and electronically limited to 155mph. A very good alternative to the more expensive midsize Euro cars.

The current Passat is packaged well enough in my opinion but I almost never see it on our roads.

Sadly, the mid-size to big sedan market is quite soft these days. Even Camrys and Accords aren't selling like they used to as most people with big sedan budgets go for SUV's instead.

Looking at resale values of big sedans, it is probably the worst category of all car types.

Midsize cars are very good options for used car buyers. With its low resale value, you get more car for your money.

Iba parin takbo ng midsize sedan though. A 15 year midsize will probably have a better ride than current PPVs.

A properly maintained midsize will ride better than even the newer subcompacts in terms of comfort and handling. The newer compacts are much like midsize cars in the 2000s era.

Took a ride in the recent model Corolla... talo parin yun ride sa 2000s era Camry. And the older Camry is still more spacious on the inside but the compacts seem to be catching up fast in terms of interior space.

True, quite common to find a deals on mid sized sedans. Like a 2-3yr old BMW/Benz for new Camry money. Or even a 2yr old Camry for new Corolla money.
